These two comedians starred in three movies during a single year, the only time they starred in 3 films in one year during their career; one 1964 and the other 1994, exactly 30 years apart! In '64 Sellers starred in Dr. Strangelove, The World of Henry Orient, and A Shot in the Dark. Carrey starred in Ace Ventura, Dumb & Dumber, and The Mask in 94. All of these films are great, not a dud among them.
Strangelove and Dumb & Dumber are the most widely liked of each, each played the most widely associated characters of theirs in A Shot and Ventura which they'd reprise, and Henry Orient and Mask are the lesser known of their trio but equally great.

Same here. If the movies had similar themes or something like that, then it would be something to think about, but the fact that they just made same number of movies in a year doesn't seem like much. I could find a bunch of actors that have made the same number of movies just to draw this comparison.

Oh of course, but all the movies are pretty damn good nonetheless.
'64 and '94 were the only years in which both starred in three films, i'd say that's pretty coincidental.

Wait...John Cusack was in three films in '94:
The Road to Wellville (1994)
Bullets Over Broadway (1994)
Floundering (1994)

The mystery goes deeper . . .
John Cusack = JC
Jim Carrey = JC
Could the duo be a sign of the second coming of the original JC . . . Jesus Chirst?!?

I'd say. Stanley Kubrick is the greatest director of all time, and the Farrelly brothers, while funny, couldn't direct to save their lives (no offense, though--I do like their movies).

This looks like Carrey's most Peter Sellers-esque movie
and nothing. I just thought it was tidbit most people didn't know about.

Sellers was born in Southsea, England and Carrey was born in Ontorio, Canada.
Ontario used to be a British territory.

Sellers first name is "Peter", and Carrey often relies on thrusting his nether regions around as some weak attempt at being funny.
Sellers was an actor who could be funny, while it's funny that Carrey is considered an actor.

It might be because I happened to mention one of the greats. I know it's no Cruise Control but Speed is a masterpiece in filmmaking. I mean it's a bus...and it can't go below 50 mph...Genuis!
I had a nice intricate joke there until it collapsed into what it is now.

3 Films in one year each.
3 is a Prime Number.
The years were 1964 and 1994.
Drop the 19 from each, because it is Prime, and common to both.
That leaves 64 and 94
6+4+9+4 = 23
Jim Carrey starred in "The Number 23"
23 is also a Prime Number
And this thread was started before that movie even came out!
