In '64 Sellers starred in Dr. Strangelove, The World of Henry Orient, and A Shot in the Dark. Carrey starred in Ace Ventura, Dumb & Dumber, and The Mask in 94. All of these films are great, not a dud among them.
Strangelove and Dumb & Dumber are the most widely liked of each, each played the most widely associated characters of theirs in A Shot and Ventura which they'd reprise, and Henry Orient and Mask are the lesser known of their trio but equally great.

Same here. If the movies had similar themes or something like that, then it would be something to think about, but the fact that they just made same number of movies in a year doesn't seem like much. I could find a bunch of actors that have made the same number of movies just to draw this comparison.
