My Name Is Earl -- "Stole P'S HD Cart" -- 01.19.2006
"Stole P'S HD Cart"
Earl (Jason Lee) does right when he returns a Pops' Old Fashioned Weiner hot dog cart, which he and Ralph (guest star Giovanni Ribisi) had stolen years prior. His good deed is undone, however, when Ralph, working for the competition, sets fire to the cart just as business is picking up again. Earl demands that the competing franchise owner pay the ten thousand dollars to replace the cart, but he refuses, sending Earl and Randy (Ethan Suplee) over his head to the corporate headquarters. Earl tricks his way into a job at the company and proceeds to steal office supplies in an effort to make up the ten thousand dollars. When he realizes that it would take the rest of his life to steal enough supplies, he recruits Randy, Joy (Jaime Pressly), Catalina (Nadine Velazquez), Darnell (Eddie Steeples), and Ralph to get jobs at the company as well to help him.

I'll ask again:
Do I need to make the effort to catch this show on HD? Outside the "chicks are hot" reasons... - Snowmaker's Post about it

This is like asking, "Do I need to make the effort of having a partner during sex?".

Can someone explain to me what effort exactly is required to watch something in HD?
I assume HD is available in your house or you would not ask

I was merely relaying what others have seen in past episodes and don't actually have HD myself.

Ok, I'm gonna give 'em a pass on this one, because there certainly have been some excellent episodes of this show. And yes, I did get a couple of laughs from tonight's show. But...this episode was jaw droppingly stupid.
If not for Joy in her short skirt and white stockings, I would have turned it off prior to them all getting trapped in the copy room scene.
Were they trying to bring back the Laverne & Shirley days of comedy?

Funniest bit that I saw was when Earl & Randy first returned Pop's cart. Pop hugs Earl enthusiastically, and Randy says quietly, "You know, I'm here too."
Fell asleep! Last thing I remember is when they started to steal the copy machine.

Not because I read the other thread where it was first asked by Joe or anything, but I would logically assume that his Tivo/DVR is not HD capable, so his only choice for watching it in HD would be to watch it live, which may present some type of problem of conflict. But that's just some wild guess.
To answer, no. The few and far in between sight gags aren't that important.

As for this episode, we laughed quite a bit, even if just at the sights. Crabman doing the mail cart and Randy waking up in the room after everybody else had left, for examples.
