(DEAD) Best of Discovery Volume II: $10

http://shopping.discovery.com/produc...d=40587927-0-0

Don't know how good this set is, but it's currently only $10

Does anyone know what the PQ and SQ is on these sets? Aspect ratio? DD5.1?

Don't know the specs, but 5 discs set for $10? $2 per disc or around 2 hours (total is 8 hours something) is not bad. However, shipping is $6+ (if order more) and taxes! Ouch!

$5 off $25 RPJAN6 expires 01/31/2006
So if you add something else you can basically get shipping for free.

Shipping was $5.80 for me (plus $1.82 sales tax) but that's because I bought another DVD and 4 VHS tapes along with the best of Discovery set and then was able to use the $5 off coupon.

I believe they are all OAR considering the last set had certain discs in widescreen and others in fullscreen. Not sure about the SQ, but PQ is apparently "digitally remastered."

I saw this set last week at the Discovery Channel store in my local mall for $10. I was all ready to take it up to the counter until I noticed the sign above the sets that said "$10 WITH $50 store purchase". The rest of their DVDs were horribly overpriced (Michael Palin's Himalaya for $49.99) so it didn't seem worth it. Congratulations to those who got in on this good deal online, you probably won't have the same luck in a B&M store.

this annoys me because i got this deal on volume 1 last year, and this year i got the e-mail advertising this sale and by the time i got home from work and hit the link, it was already sold out - i remember last year the B&Ms started selling off their stock at the same price point... i shall have to look around, however i have a feeling after last years severe overstock on volume 1 (afterall this is a holiday promotion set) they lowered the production quantitys.
