Lost -- "the Hunting Party" -- 01.18.2006

"the Hunting Party"

Jack, Locke and Sawyer pursue a determined Michael after he heads into the jungle toward the dreaded "Others" in search of Walt. Meanwhile, Sun has a surprising reaction to Jin's desire to join the search party, and Hurley and Charlie commiserate over the age-old conundrum of "what women want."

And for those who missed it, immediately preceding the new ep is last week's Eko-centric episode.

REAL spoiler:
Spoiler:
From the promo pics for tonight's episode (see aktick's link), it looks like "Mr. Friendly" is in Jack's flashbacks. Mr. Friendly is the shaggy bearded man that said something like "We're gonna need to take the boy" when Walt was kidnapped.

I am so pissed right now. My guide said last week's episode (which I missed) would be on at 8 tonight and the new one would be on at 9.

So now not only can I not watch last week's episode tonight, I can't watch this week's because I haven't seen last week's yet. Damn I'm so pissed.

Is it worth it to wait and watch last week's or should I just watch this week's now?

Oh man what a great line to end the show!

Spoiler:
"How long do think it would take to train an army?" Though they probably won't be battle ready until next season.

Good episode.
Spoiler:
Next week looks like filler from the preview.

Not a bad episode, but utterly predictable from beginning to end.

Why would Jack ask Anna to train an army? Wasn't Saiyd in the army. Are they just looking for ways to write her into the show or what?

Either there are a disproportionate amount of west coasters that watch this show or a lot of people are Tivoing it so they can watch "Skating with Celebrities" .

Well he did he say that "Sayid says..." and such so maybe he already talked to him. Probably need more than 2 to train... Also I think Jack is trying to get 'closer' to Anna, after what has happened with Kate.

He was part of the Iraq Republican Guard.

I don't think Saddam outsourced his intelligence officers to an outside company

I just think he is the natural fit to train an army - not an LA beat cop.

Just get Eko, he's your army right there.
Of course I knew it was only a matter of time before they decided to go the commando route.

Decent episode, didn't care much for Jack's backstory. Oh and when meeting face to face with the others, rather than calling their nonexistent bluff, how about some questions including but not limited to "who the fuck are you people?" and "how the hell do we get off this goddamn rock?" (and they do know how to get off because they had boats).

And who was the chick playing Gabriela?

Ironic how the show has back-to-back solid episodes for this first time this season, and the thread is suddenly quiet. Hopefully we're done with Jack's backstory. They've resolved what happened between him and his dad and him and his wife.
