Just picked this up from Best Buy for 14.99. Did not have these two in my collection yet. The pack has movie cash for part 3, plus a preview disc for 3 and Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny.

How are the extras on the 3rd disc about the new film? Are they pretty in depth or just promotional fluff? I only ask because I already own the two other films, but $15 is not too bad if the third disc is really worth it. Thanks.

anyone know WHERE the moviecash is located? I bought the pack today, opened it up and NOTHING. Is it inside one of the movie boxes?

I'm heading to Best Buy after work to get this. I'm going to open it right away and make sure I don't get screwed out of a ticket.

UninTy, where did you buy your set?

I had the same problem, bought from bb. I haven't opened the sealed movie discs yet, but there's nothing in the bonus disc.
Any idea where it's at?

My ticket was inside the Final Destination 1 case.

The free movie ticket was in the Final Destination 1 disc case of my set too.

This is a great deal! 2 DVDs, a movie ticket worth up to $10.50, and a promotional disc with a lot of trailers, etc.

Final Destination 2 is a lot of fun - in a playfully gory kind of way. I'd recommend this set as a blind buy to just about anyone.

Does the cover art for the individual movies have a bar code?

Mr. Cinema

They are exactly like the separate releases.

I picked this up today at Target. Yes, the ticket for FD 3 is inside the case of FD 1. My god, people, open the damn thing up before complaining you got screwed!

I entered the bar code off the cardboard backing into my DVD Profiler, but it wasn't recognized. Should I input them individually, or will DVD Profiler eventually be updated with the barcode for the 2 pack?

I saw FD 2 on cable and found it unlike anything I'd ever seen. I haven't seen FD1 yet, so that will be a treat. I'm pretty picky about my buys, but as has been said, this was a deal too good to pass up. Factor in the value of the movie at, say, $8, and you get each movie for about $3.50 each. Worth it in my book.

They'll update it eventually. I bought Junebug today as well and it wasn't in there. DVD Af. had both.

Um, I didn't want to open it incase I had to return it. And, I wasn't complaining about getting screwed, only asking where it was found. IMO, it should have been separate, since these are not new releases, just packaged together.
As for your Profiler question, what I do is enter the UPC manually. Add the individual movies to the Box set, and eventually when you do a profile update it will see your UPC and get a match, and update the profile/images.

I wasn't saying I got screwed either.

To be honest, just wanted to be able to maximize this deal by selling the unopened (FD2) for about 6-7 bucks, then buying another set, getting the second ticket and then selling the open FD1 for whatever I can get for it.

Final deal would be 2 movie tickets and Death Pack Set for around 14 bucks or so. Obviously, I'm not going to FD3 alone, so it is worth the trouble to grab another free ticket.

FYI, I was browsing CircuitCity.com and see that this comes available in 2 different packs:

Side-by-side:

&

Back-to-back:

Assuming just a minor packaging difference, so not a big deal.

I saw the Side-by Side pack at Wal-Mart, and the back to back set at Target. Only $14.24 at my Wally, so great deal!

The "back to back" packaging is all I saw at Target. Makes more sense to me, as it can serve like a slipcase that you can keep the two keepcases in and put it on your shelf. The side-by-side won't work like that. So, if you want to keep that packaging, it can be a bit of a deal.

And maybe "screwed" was the wrong word to use. I just found it ridiculous that people were taking the time to post here about not finding the movie ticket when they hadn't bothered to actually look for it.

If anyone has a Fred Meyer in the area, there was a $3.00 off coupon any DVD purcahse of $14.99 or higher in the weekly advertisement. Also, the Final Destination pack is only going for $14.99-$3.00=$11.99 Not bad for two movies and a free movie ticket.

I saw the first FD and thought it was OK, but not the 2nd one. For both FDs + bonus DVD + the movie ticket at $14.99 I'll buy it if I can, but I didn't make my usual Tuesday trips because I was busy. I called up BBY thinking I'd go by on Thursday, but they said they sold out on the first day (knowing them they probably got less than 10 copies total).

Besides CC, do any other stores have the same FD 2-pack + bonus DVD + movie ticket for $14.99? I missed what the price was at TGT (since they don't PM). Does Walmart carry these with the movie ticket?

WhiteRob

Target's price is also $14.99, and it comes with the ticket. Saw it a few days ago.

i've seen both.

the first one is definitely more suspenseful, because...well, it's the first one and you don't know exactly what's going to happen.

the second one is more gory.

not sure which one I liked more.

as for the movie ticket, i guess some people have never bought one of the dvds that have, in the past, been advertised with a free movie ticket.

i've bought an I, Robot: SE (that came with a Fantastic Four movie ticket) and a couple of others that came with movie tickets *inside* the cases.

anyway, more people will know now. :)

So is there an actual slipcover? Is it like the Blade Giftset with standard cases inside a new case, or like any other 2 pack (just 2 movies sealed together with no packaging)?

The picture @ WalMart.com looks like a box set (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4380150).

Mr. Cinema

I went to walmart last night and mine also had the side-by-side 2-pack which I thought was strange since they had the slip cover on their site.

I went down the road to Best Buy and they had the slip cover for 14.99 so I picked that up. Cheaper and I like the packaging better:)

But this is the first instance (that I can think of) where a movie ticket came in a 2-pack, and both were EXISTING releases. The other instances of free tickets all came with new releases or re-releases in new packaging (like The Fog). Both of the DVD's in this set were shrinkwrapped individually, so it would have made sense for them to just stick the ticket between the two pre-packaged DVD's. That's where the bonus DVD was. Why didn't they put the ticket and bonus disc in the same place? And what was the point of them shrinkwrapping the individual DVD's? Seems like a waste of time to me.

When The Ring was rereleased with Rings, it was packaged in the same side by side manner, and the ticket was it The Ring, not the new release.

This was a great buy. Glad I procrastinated on these. I thought both films were excellent in their own ways. Add the bonus disc and a ticket and you make out like a bandit!

Since my Best Buy was out of the back-to-back slip cover packaging, I got the side-by-side packaging for $14.99 at Walmart. From what I've read, the contents are the same besides the packaging and the free movie ticket is sealed inside the FD1 DVD for either packaging type?

Could someone tell me what kind of movie cash is included... is it www.hollywoodmoviecash.com? Before I open up the DVDs, I'd like to make sure the movie ticket is good at a nearby theater like AMC or Harkins.

Actually, it's Hollywood Movie CASH.com and the ticket is good 'til March 10, 2006.

The FD3 preview is a production featurette with director, effects supervisors and actors discussing aspects of the film, with an emphasis on the rollercoaster accident at the beginning of the film. It's not too bad....

Thank you. :) Wasn't sure about this at first, but then I noted on Amazon and other retailers that the featurette ran 20 minutes and sounded like more than typical EPK fluff. Besides, my original FD case--snapper kind with what I call "psychedelic" cover art--came with a broken locking hub. Been wanting to replace it ever since.

I just checked CH online, and for my account this set costs $14.96 with 99c shipping (even if I add 2 other DVDs). You must have a special promotion on your account OR the $11.99 price didn't last very long. I would tend to guess the former because CH often gives different customers different prices. I don't like places that do that, but what can you do.

I guess I'll be sticking with the Walmart one I got for $14.99 + tax last week.

Wow. you're right! I always assumed CH was Columbia House and could be accessed through either URL. I used www.columbiahouse.com because that's what's in my stored links.

So, now I've got to go to the clubs section and try to find in the FAQ what the difference is between the clubs... unless you can give me a quick few line summary? I understand why CH has CD, DVD, and game clubs separate, but why they would have multiple DVD clubs is a mystery. There must be some logical financial reason for this that my tiny brain doesn't yet grasp.
