I just got back from picking up S7... there's $15 off instantly on those two seasons. All the S7's I saw here the Marge head but I didn't look too closely, they may have had the box as well.

Right, I think it's good till Sunday. And yep, 24 season 4 was also included. I couldn't remember the original price on that so I didn't post it, but it was in the low to mid 40's as previously mentioned. There were also various DVD's that were $7 off as well. All I remember specifically was Office Space Spec. Ed but that discount brings that to around $8.

I won't be able to make it down to Costco until later in the week. Since the rebates are mainly on Fox TV sets, I would appreciate it if anyone who goes to Costco could check and see if there's a rebate for The Shield Season 4. I would also like to know if there's a rebate for The Pretender, Remington Steele & King of the Hill(they all share the same item number and are regularly priced at $26.99). Thanks.:)

If it works the same way as it did for the Alien Quadrilogy set last year, you actually pay tax on the pre-coupon price. So you'd pay tax on $30.49.
Perhaps someone can confirm this. Either way, it's still a great deal.
Edit: Per the post by Sweet Baby James below, this might be a state to state thing.

You can use your parents card. You just flash it to the doorman as you walk in. If there's a picture of your parent on the card, then just hold your thumb over it as you flash it. You have to also give the card to the cashier at checkout, but they won't care. If they give you any grief for not being the one pictured on the card, just tell them that your parent ask you to pick something up for them(I seriously doubt that it will come to that).:)

Here are some pictures for people who needs help visualizing...
Some of the pictures are not so great due to others gathering around me because I was holding like 10 DVDs...
Of course, there are more then just these titles on the coupon, but I think those are YMMV. Man on Fire (old version) and Passions of the Christ are part of the FOX stock.
There is this Chronicle of Naria set. I don't know what that is, but I think that's $7 off the Costco price. There was this Western set under this 'instant rebate' deal.
I'm surprise to see King Kong Productions Diaries part of this deal. I got it when it first came out for $27, but it's much sweeter now that it's $20.
Anyway, GOOD LUCK TO ALL. And don't everyone thank me at once.
PS: I saw some guy buying box loads of DVDs to SELL. I found the urge to ask him 'collector or seller' and he said 'seller'. So if I were you guys, DON'T WAIT any longer then you should. Different promos have different stock count. There were about 7 copies of King Kong and one Untouchables, while they have 2 dozens Simpsons S7 (head and box version) and no Simpsons S6.

Costco strikes again on The Simpsons! Last time I bought S6 for $30+ at Amazon, Costco had it for somewhere in the low $20s, I think. So on S7 I said I would wait until they had it for the same price near the low $20s, and the week after release sure enough they did... S7 was about $21.99 (always a bit more because of charging sales tax on the whole amount). Now it's around $15 a few weeks later. It's tempting to rebuy and return using the old receipt.
Is this a pattern I should expect to repeat every year for every Simpsons release or is this due to some other unusual factor? I'm not sure what I should set my new price point at, but apparently anything over $19.99 is too high for The Simpsons.

I just picked up S7 of the Simpsons. Thanks OP!
The had both the plastic "Marge Head" case and the more conventional boxed versions for sale. Last year I bought S6 with the "Homer Head" case and I really didn't care for it. It seems cheap and flimsy and it wastes space on the shelf. So I picked up S7 in the conventional case.
It was ($31.99 + local tax) - $15 instant rebate = $19.63. The tax was applied to the pre-discounted price.
I also couldn't find a copy of Donnie Darko.

Thanks so much to the OP for the heads-up on this deal. My lame-o Costco (Austin @ 183 & Braker) had no signs up whatsoever, so I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. I crossed my fingers and waited in line for 15 minutes, hoping that this deal would work, and luckily it did. Tax was charged on the post-rebate price. I picked up one Simpsons 7, and they still had a couple of Homer Heads, about 30-40 Season 7's in both flavors, and maybe 10 24 Season 4's. It looks like they had stocked up in anticipation of this rebate, but I doubt they were going sell much without it being advertised!

Is Costco's Donnie Darko DC a 2-DVD edition? There are no specs on the back, but I have a note somewhere saying there should be 2 discs (or at least 2 sides making it a DVD-14) for the DC.
Which version of Monty Python's Meaning of Life is it for $8.99 - $4? They covered the UPC, so I can't tell if it's the Special Edition or the old release which I heard was a bad transfer. Is this version OK, and is it better than the oldest Image release?
I saw a lot of old versions of stuff (like the old Good, Bad, and Ugly and The Great Escape), so a person has to be careful not to get an old version palmed off on you.
My Costco only had the Marge head Simpsons S7, and I had forgotten I had bought the regular box at BBY for about $23. If they had had the regular box, I might have bought it at Costco and returned it to BBY with my old receipt just barely within its time window. Unfortunately BBY won't PM Costco.

Costco usually stocks extra when they run a sale. They had plenty of everything at my local Costco today with the exception of Office Space. They might have had it and I just didn't see it(my only gripe with Costco is that they stack their inventory in boxes, one on top of another which sometimes makes it difficult to browse their entire supply).

I was able to figure out that the MP Meaning of Life is the single DVD edition, and the 2-DVD edition is available for $9.99 at Amazon, so I'll be returning that. Does anyone know if they fixed the transfer problems in Meaning of Life (I think someone said the 3:2 pulldown flags were wrong)?
I have another question: what extras are missing in the Fast and the Furious "Tricked Out Edition" that were in the previous edition?
I could only find 2 reviews of the "Tricked Out Edition" which gave no specifics other than to say the new extras are pretty worthless and that it has fewer extras than the previous edition. If so, it sounds like I should return this and wait for the previous edition.

I had to track down an employee and drag her to a register and scan a Simpsons, 24, and a couple of the Universal ones that are $4.99 to prove to her that I wasn't crazy. You're not going to do much better than $27.49 for 24 Season 4, but if you want to get them in order, you can wait until April. www.foxstore.com has had a 50% off sale during this time of year for the last two years, so I think that it's a safe bet that they'll do it again. I walked out with only 12 Monkeys and Love Actually for $4.99 each. I just couldn't bring myself to getting 24 season 4 before getting 2 and 3. I have vowed to buy them in order, or all at once. :D
I specifically bought one of the two remaining 12 Monkeys they had with the gold keepcase, but when I opened it I realized it was cracked and part of the clear plastic near the spine was torn. Luckily the cover sheet was OK, so I just stuck it in a different case for now. :(

The 50 and the 00 are numbers that signifies what security device is being used inside the box. It doesn't make a difference as long as the regular UPC numbers match. I'm tempted to get the Simpsons, but I don't own any others...so I passed.
Costco had the first 5 seasons of The Simpsons in a bundle for just $75 last month. Coistco quite often will run the same sale at a future date, so if they bring back the bundle deal for $75, you could have seasons 1-7 for just $106. For anyone on the fence about whether or not to pick up a set, go ahead and buy it and you can always return it later. Costco is extremely easy about returns. They'll let you return anything at anytime and for any reason. They'll even give you a full return on an opened DVD.:)

That's good news.
I once was unable to return a copy of LOTR:Return of the King to my local Walmart that I had received as a gift via Amazon.com. They scanned it and told me that it was not a recognized by their inventory system.
So it seems as if there are some store specific UPCs floating around out there, at least for some titles and retailers.
Bob
The 50 and the 00 are numbers that signifies what security device is being used inside the box. It doesn't make a difference as long as the regular UPC numbers match. I took back a Simpsons set last year to Best Buy that had a different two digit number from what Best Buy had on their shelves and it scanned correctly in their computer.:)

Good to know...not sure if I have the time to devote to 7+ seasons of the Simpsons right now though ;) I just started watching Family Guy S1!!!
Still tempting....mabe I'll stop today.

When I bought my copy on Wednesday, they had about 7 copies left. I'm not going back until Sunday, but if they still have 'em, I'll definitely pick one up for you.:)
BTW, if you miss out on this sale, you should be able to get it for the same price in April. As I mentioned earlier, www.foxstore.com should have a 50% off sale sometime in April. Their price is $55.98, so it should be $28 during the sale.

I was initially on the fence with Season 7 as I have yet to watch the first six seasons on DVD.
Then I read the DVDtalk review of S7 and I was sold. It received a DVDTalk Collector Series rating and it looks like a winner.
So you must buy it. ;)

First, thanks to the OP for this, I recently rejoined Costco, they sent me a mailer at home to get a $20 gift card with signup, woohoo. I picked up 24 Season 4, looked for Office Space but didn't see it.
Second, people have talked about the potential 50% off Fox sale. One thing to note, last year, it was only available to people on their email list. I think one or two people claimed that they were able to argue their way into the sale, but for the most part it was restricted to people who were already getting email from the them. I had ordered once before from them, but you may be able to get on the list by signing up for their promo spam at foxstore. There is no guarantee that they will do it again as well, doesn't mean that they won't, but I wouldn't assume that it has the perennial aspect that the DDD sale does.
Also, I can't believe that there's someone out there who hasn't seen the Simpsons! You are in for a treat, the later seasons do contain a lot of references to stuff in earlier years, but they definitely stand alone, and many of those middle years(seasons 4-9 or so) have some of the best animated comedy ever, imo.

Thanks OP for spotting the deal.
Just got back from the lunch hour there, absolutely no signage posted for the sales, I don't get that, wouldn't they want to sell more of them by advertising.
Anyway, picked up season 7 for $15.xx and then got slapshot and liar liar with $4 off each of them, picked up the $5 chicken for lunch, and filled up for cheap. Good lunch hour.

They also had a few other titles on special
40 Year Old Virgin was $18.99 - $5
Mr. and Mrs. Smith was $18.99 - $5
American Pie Band Camp was $17.99 - $5
Was also able to get The Great Outdoors for $8.99 -$4
How to lose a guy in ten days for $8.99 -$4
Elecktra $12.99 - $4
Transporter SE - $12.99 - $4
Prices at the Costco I went to seemed to be around a dollar higher for the box sets, still a good deal though. Sorry if I got some of this wrong, I bought 11 titles yesterday and don't remember of hand excatly the price on all of them.

Yes, in my case I've seen a number of the broadcast episodes but I've never watched the DVDs. I plan on watching the series, in order, from episode 1.
I've edited my original comments to make that clearer.

Yeah, I never botherd to get the DVD's. I enjoy the Simpsons, but I don't really like to own TV shows on DVD since I usually watch them once are rarely go back to them. If I need a SImpsons fix, I can DVR them since they are on EVERYday.

Norwalk, CT Costco had plenty of Season 7 Simpsons in face and normal box design but no Season 6 (which I was after).
Did have a good number of the other stuff mentioned like Kong Production etc.
The only other thing I noticed missing was any Sideways ... so looks like they got snapped up.

Was this on Simpsons S7 with the Marge head or the box?
I have been so tempted to do this, but for about $7 difference I wasn't sure it was worth the trouble or the risk if the different UPCs would work. Also, my Costco only had the Marge heads, and I was afraid if I opened up Costco's outer box that it wouldn't have any security stickers and would be considered "used" at that point.

Good luck. I went to my local Costco today and found none on the shelf. I went to the customer service desk to ask if they had any in stock and the woman there didn't even have to type anything into the computer. She told me that someone came in and bought every single copy they had (hundreds) the first day they were available at a discount.

Costco should probably have some sort of reasonable "number of copies per account" limit to avoid this type of abuse.

Well, it does suck for people like you and me still trying to find copies, but Costco is a STORE and I think they're goal is to sell as many of something as possible. Nothing would make them happier than if someone walked in and bought them out of every item that they sold.
They're not like Best Buy where they advertise items as costs that make them loss leaders just to get you in the store.

First of all, thanks Chops for posting the deal. I was able to get 24 season 4 and Simpsons 7 (regular box( just under the wire simce it's the last day of the sale.
Second, a funny thing happened at checkout. I use my mom's business card (but it has my name on it). I usually look like an unmade bed and my hair is usually messed up. Plus I just lost a lot of weight so my clothes are hanging off me. So while I was paying a rep comes up to me and asks if I was ever told about their excutive membership where I can earn 2 or 3% back. She scans my card and says "Since you have spent (Pauses to look me up and down) 8,900 dollars here you could get a nice check back." 4 people in the line looked up at me in shock (I look like I would have trouble getting bus fare to work much less anything else.)
Anyway, I got a good chuckle out of it on my way back to my car.

I believe that mongoco did buy The Simpsons at Best Buy at a much higher price. He probably broke open the seal, so he can no longer take it back for a refund. He then bought it at Costco and took back this sealed copy to Best Buy for a refund. Since he did buy it at Best Buy and he's returning the exact same DVD to Best Buy for a refund, I personally wouldn't lose any sleep over it if I was mongoco.:)

Thanks OP, keep posting these awesome Costco deals as my mom recently became a member an dit looks like I can finally get in on these!
I got the:
Simpsons S7 (Marge Head - there were about 10 of these, 10 box)
24 S4 - My dad wanted this after I told him about the sale, there was about 5
The Great Outdoors
NO advertising what so ever. I dont think anyone there knew what was going on. Luckily no hoarders so when another thing like this comes along, I should be in luck
How is Costco with sales like this? If they keep this up, I wont buy anymore Simpsons or anything until they have sales like this!

I almost did the same thing too because I don't consider it wrong. However, I bought the box version at BBY and Costco only had the Marge head, so it wouldn't have matched my BBY receipt when scanned, so I didn't try it for about $7 difference. If you return the box for the box or the Marge head for the Marge head, it's returning the same item with a legitimate receipt and no loss to BBY. If BBY would pricematch Costco then there would've been no need for this, but since they won't then you have to buy at Costco and return that one to BBY since the first one was opened.

Actually, one thing that would make Costco happier would be to sell the same number of copies to a greater number of customers. That goes to customer satisfaction which can lead to more sales.
And while these coupon deals may not be loss leaders, I'm sure that their profit on these titles is pretty minimal. And like Best Buy loss leaders, these coupon deals are intended to generate additional sales. My guess is that the primary goal is to get people into Costco to buy restuarant size bags of tortilla chips. ;)
And, as an aside, my Costco actually had all the titles I was looking for with the exception of Donnie Darko. But I wasn't quite sure I wanted that one anyway after reading the DVDTalk review.
Bob

If that is what he did, then I apologize. If he bought a copy at Costco for the sole reason to return it to Best Buy for a profit, then that is stealing in my eyes.
Even though it isn't very ethical, I have no problem returning the same item if another store has it lower, later on. It is just like a price match!
So, sorry for the implied stealing comment, mongoco.

Really? They told you that, did they?
