The Post-Dispatch's TV critic couldn't stand Cavanaugh in "Ed", but she likes him a lot in this.

Well, it aired last night here in Canada and my verdict is: Meh.

Although similar plot to Ed, very different sensibility. Good acting, ok writing, but not sure it's got legs. Willing to give it a shot though.

Also, I think they use real-world talent in the show -- anyone know who the kid he was trying to sign is? He's pretty good...

No bowling alley?
Jason Priestley?
O-Dawg not busting a cap in some mark ass mothereffer?

I'll watch because I loved Tom Cavanaugh in Ed. Let's hope it has at least half as much charm as that show, and at least twice the ratings.

I have never seen Ed.

I am looking forward to this, mainly to see how they depict the music industry setting (of which I am intimately familiar.)

That's one of the critics I always seem to have the opposite opinion from. We'll see if it holds true for this one.

I thought it was decent, better than the reviews I had heard. I'm not completely sold on it yet but will give it a try for the next few weeks. Tom Cavanaugh kicks ass, so just having him back on TV full time is appreciated. A decent enough pilot but hopefully it's only uphill from here.

I'd watch it for Judy Greer. She's always good to watch, esp. on "Arrested Development." Never was a huge fan of "Ed." In fact, "Ed" really made me angry. Always thought it was trying too hard to be zany.

But this isn't "Ed," so why not give it a shot.

Haven't read very good things about it, but I might check it out. If there's a $10 bet, I'm in for a 2nd episode. No $10 bet, no 2nd episode.

I was interested in giving this show a shot, but Tuesdays are just too jam-packed for me already. Maybe they'll show reruns on another night.

As much as I'd like to watch this, the fact that it's in the same slot as The Shield and I don't have a dvr pretty much rules it out. It's too bad, as I loved Ed and have been interested by what I've heard about this show. Hopefully the 10pm timeslot is only temporary.

He's also raved about Invasion and Threshold this year. I take what he says lightly.

Well 20 mins. in and I'm done. What a boring, phony load of crap this show is.

Metrosexuals? ugh

Are they going for a male (and I use the term loosly) version of Sex and the City?

dude, threshold kicked ass...again...friday night shows that dont appeal to the

elder audiences go whee down the toilet! (x files was an exception, but it had a good older audience if i remember right)

Too bad Love Monkey is way to hip for CBS...back when they had Picket Fences, Chicago Hope, Northern Exposure...maybe...for now...they gave it a kill shot, tuesdays at 9 v law and order, the shield, and commander in chief...dont see this flying with the ratings...too bad it looked really good when I flipped to it from the shield!

I loved it!

I have not enjoyed a new show like this in some time. The whole music aspect was spot-on.

The Shield is repeated right afterwards at 11, and also later in the week.

Thought it was a good pilot. Cavanaugh was great, not sold on Priestley as the buddy married to his wife, but the other two buddies were ok. Acting was solid, premise is different and looks good. Music is solid. If they keep using good live talent and background music, this could be a solid show. Worth watching for now, definitely!

I wasn't "wow"-ed by it, but I liked it. And I will definitely continue to watch to see how it develops.
