Favorite Brosnan Bonds

Goldeneye is my favorite of his (as many's are), World Is Not Enough is the only one that had no Satellites.. which of Brosnan's Bonds did you like?
I wonder how his 4 Bond movies will be seen years from now.

Goldeneye for me. Tomorrow Never Dies is actually my least favorite of his, mainly cause it seemed more generic action movie than Bond to me. I'd rank them as follows: Goldeneye, Die Another Day, The World is Not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies

Not only do I think TOMORROW NEVER DIES is the worst Brosnan Bond, but it's in the bottom three of the entire run.

1. Tomorrow Never Dies
2. Goldeneye
3. The World Is Not Enough
4. Die Another Day

I love TND, Brosnan is so in the zone as Bond in that one. He didn't seem as comfortable in the role yet in Goldeneye, and there were several scenes that Timothy Dalton would have played much better. He was still in the zone in TWINE, but he really looked disinterested in DAD once the movie got to Iceland - DAD was two movies really, the first half and the second half. The first half (or two thirds) was good, and featured a good performance by Brosnan, the second half (or final third) was crap and Brosnan looked like he knew that stuff was crap.

But TND is definitely my favorite of Brosnan's Bond films.

Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies are my favourites.. I can't decide which.
Die Another Day had the makings of a great Bond, but fell apart like a Chinese motorbike in the last act

SPOT ON! I agree with every single point you made. Even the ranking order is perfect.

Ouch, no love for Roger Moore...maybe because i grew up with them but i still think he was the best Bond (scoff if you will) i know the series got silly at this stage, and Rog was long in the tooth for some of them, i still liked it. As for Pierce my vote is Goldeneye

GoldenEye was a great video game. The movie that they spun off of it wasn't too bad either.

Well, I did include two Moore films in the top ten, with FOR YOUR EYES ONLY at the #5 spot. I like Roger Moore as a person. And he was the Bond I grew up with. But now, having absorbed all 20 Bond films, as well as some of the history behind Ian Fleming's work, I think that Moore's portrayal of the character, as well as the tone that the films took during his run, to be completely off-target.

Again, I find Moore to be perfectly intelligent, personable, charming and funny. I also think he's a fine actor. But if I were to rank the Bond actors based on the demands of the character, I would do it thusly:

1. Sean Connery
2. Timothy Dalton
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. George Lazenby
5. Roger Moore

GoldenEye just because it had a better villain and better Bond girls. I do think Tomorrow Never Dies was the best in terms of action and it is just a fraction of a point behind GoldenEye.

1)Goldeneye (though the score is awful at times, especially when he's racing Xenia on that twisty road)
2)TWINE (though Denise Richards does ruin it a bit for me)
3)Tomorrow Never Dies
a distant 4)Die Another Day (I agree the first half, with the exception of Madonna's song and appearence were great, second half stunk to high hell)

I have to say Tommorrow Never Dies, as someone said previously, Pierce is 'in the zone'. The classic moments and inferences are all here. The great filmmaking, the great locations, a terrific villain, balanced action/humour and drama, and above all the trademark 'unique' Bond chase!
Goldeneye was a great re-introduction for 007, heavy spy 'From russia with love' style and modern at the same time. Really good, but after 'The Living Daylights' (also one of the best) and 'License To Kill' I was expecting more.
TWINE was again well executed, but lacked the punch of TND. I'd have loved to see more chases like the opening sequence, but the film slowed down towards the end and the battle with the villain was a bit low-key, but still a good movie.
Die Another Day is a terrific experiment for how the new Bonds will progress. It is ultra-modern that is true and I can understand how many people were put off by it - especially Sean Connery - but it is a great story if you look past the invisible Aston Martin.
I think it's a welcome addition and updates Diamonds Are Forever's diamond satelite concept. Couldn't do worse as Diamonds is one the weakest Bonds.
I would have liked if Pierce's Bond looked at or referred to the Icarus by saying something like, "I have a small feeling of deja vu'. That would have linked DAD well to the rest of the franchise. That's something I don't think the recent films do too well - connect. In the video game 'Everything or nothing' the villain is Max Zorin's protege. M asks 'I beleive you knew him?' and Bond replies, 'we once played bridge together...he lost'. That kind of linking is important.
One more thing - how about giving Richard Kiel one more stint as JAWS. That would rock!

Heck, at this rate, it is a good thing that Craig is coming on the band wagon. Goldeneye for me also. Let's hope that Craig can get the ball rolling with his first one as Brosnan did.
