Some TRU stores are closing

Some TRU stores are closing. They got the notification and began liquidating on 1/6.

Got the info from the Albany, OR store. If someone has the full list of closing stores, please post.

They are running (at least) 10% off everything except for game consoles. One catch though - no returns are accepted.

I have a friend who used to manage one, and he's been saying that they won't be around much longer for a year now. He'll be happy to hear this.

The TRU here in MA (Swansea) absolutely SUCKS, they have employees who score the hot figures before they even hit the shelf, they have been doing it for years back to the Starting Lineup days! I could care less if TRU stays or goes....

Disappointing. Not for adult themed items like games or figures, but for generally buying kids toys.

What does that leave? Wal-Mart, Target & K-mart for options? That sucks. We found some decent stuff at WM & Target for Christmas, but ended up buying the majority at TRU. They have such a bigger/better selection.

Our store is not affected, but this can't help in the long run.

its either that or the old men who line up outside the doors before opening, then race through the store for the new hot wheels cars, knocking down everything in their way. its pathetic.

Not surprised. That place has gone to crap in the last five years. I know their money is made in the baby merch, but I don't care about that. I may drop by the one in Midland to see if I can score any decent WWE Classic Superstars.

Yesterday I was at my local store that is closing. 10% off toys. 30% off video game accessories, 10% off video games. All sale is final.
