Masters of Horror - "Fair Haired Child" - 1/6/06

It's back after a few weeks off.

Written by Matt Greenberg
Directed by William Malone ("House on Haunted Hill," "FearDotCom")

Tara, a lonely 13 year-old outcast, is kidnapped by a strange couple and locked in the basement with their 13-year old son Johnny. Despite the fact that he is kind and sensitive, Johnny keeps a terrible secret. These two children form a special bond to a find a way to battle a curse and to survive the night.

I really missed this show and was really excited about finally getting a new episode on Friday, but I must say this was one of my least favorite episodes, maybe the least favorite. It just never really grabbed my attention at all. Barring a couple of great parts (Lori Petty getting her head smashed in), there just wasn't much to like and it was perhaps the most predictable ep of the series, which is really saying something.

And while we're talking about this ep, what happened to Lori Petty's career? At one time, I remember she was becoming kind of a marquee name. How quickly they fall. I think her forehead has gotten even bigger over the years.

The image of Lori Petty that I want to keep is from Point Break. As to what happened to her career...Tank Girl happened. Seriously, I don't know although she isn't looking the best these days.
