The Weird Al Show on DVD in 2006!!
Just read this at weirdal.com
This will be great, I never really got a chance to watch this show on TV but caught one or two episodes. I can't wait!!!
THE WEIRD AL SHOW... ON DVD!
Holy cow... really? You mean the entire 13-episode run of Al's 1997-98 CBS Saturday Morning kids' show, in a spiffy DVD package with commentaries and junk?? Yes, that's exactly what we mean. The good folks at Shout! Factory will be releasing it later this year... stay tuned!

I've been hoping this one would come to DVD. I think I still have some of the episodes recorded to tape sitting around. As for thee above mentioned AL TV, I think there's little chance of that coming to DVD, because of all the rights that would be needed (videos shown, interview clips of other celebrities, stuff like that) But if it managed to get to DVD, I'd certainly buy it!
We still need The Compleat Al on DVD too (a semi-real biography), I still have that on VHS

Yay! This is excellent news. I used to work in the entertainment industry and I need to vouch for one of the few celebrities I ever shared a studio with: Weird Al is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He even picked up his own pizza for his own party, so used to celebrities being orbited by assistants.

I wish this isn't made by Shout Factory, it is one of the worst companies that doesn't even add subtitles or closed caption, I hope they will add english subtitles or closed caption but I am not holding my breath

Amazon has updated its pre-order listing with (I assume) the text from the back of the box, including extras:
Aside from the commentaries, a bit underwhelming and less than I expected for this release. But I'll still be picking it up.
Also, at least some of the musical guests will be included:
Als Weird Special Features:
13 Commentaries with Weird Al, Cast & Crew
The Evolution of "Fatman" - Original Concept Art Gallery
Concept Art Galleries
Animated "Fatman" Storyboards with Commentary by Keith Alcorn ("Fatman" Animator and Director), Animator Paul Claerhout and Production Artist Tim Hatcher
"Weird Al Show Theme" Karaoke
