That's only 9 weeks after the release of season 3.

Thanks for the info. I doubt I'll even be finished watching season 3 by the time that comes out. Might have to think about waiting on season 3 and see if they have any deals for buying multiple seasons when 4 comes out.

The creator of the series, the star of the series, and myself all have the same favorite episode.
And it's from season 4:

Over the years of the series` production 162 episodes were made. In an Internet chat Donald P. Bellisario named `Home from the sea` as his favorite episode and also Tom Selleck in the Honolulu Magazine.

Without giving any spoilers, I want to talk about "Home From The Sea."
You know those big guys with the tattoos and the bulging muscles who claim they never cry?
Show them "Home From The Sea," and watch them weep like a baby.
It's completely G-rated. No violence. No sex. No swearing.
It's also a great introduction for a perosn who has never seen the series before.

The season 4 DVD set will contain a bonus episode from season 5. The title of the episode is not known:

The season 4 DVD set contains the bonus episde "Mac's Back" from season 5.
That episode is a continuation of the story in the two Sharon Stone season 5 episodes "Echoes Of The Mind Part 1" and "Echoes Of The Mind Part Two" that were bonuses on the season 1 DVD set.
In my opinion these 3 episodes are, by far, the 3 best episodes from season 5.
Here are menu screenshots from season 4:
