Audio out of sync with new dvd player
I had just gotten a new DVD player made by IoData called AVeL LinkPlayer2. I bought it because it had the ability to play captured HD content, DivX and Windows media files.
I hooked it up to my TV (LG DLP) through component, and I played a disc and when someone would talk really fast, the audio would be way out of sync. Im trying to get some ideas as to what would cause this, is it the player?

Don't know the machine but mine sometimes goes out of sync when I scan forward or in reverse. So I fast-forward, then hit stop, then hit play. Takes care of it. Try it.

Latest firmware for this player is dated December 27, 05. You might give it a try.

Is your new dvd player connected via HDMI to the TV? And is the audio delay coming fm your receiver?
It has been an occurrence on some upconverting dvd players that they are not fully compatible with either your tv or your receiver.

Thanks for the responses guys. I don't have a receiver, the audio is playing through the television. I'll try the firmware upgrade.
The DVD player's component hookup isn't direct, it has something called D4 to component. I've never heard of it before, so maybe that could be the cause?
