Need help finding place to buy used books online

Hi,

I am currently trying to assist a client at my work. She is wondering what some good websites would be to purchase used books online. (pref. Canadian)
if anyone knows any good sites or resouces that would be great. ( something other then E Bay would be good)
Thanks in advance!
Libby

Amazon.ca Marketplace

If it doesn't have to be Canadian, Amazon.com's Marketplace might have a larger selection. Just look for sellers that will ship internationally (as long as she doesn't mind the extra shipping charge).

http://www.bookcloseouts.com doesn't have used books, but they have new books at very low prices (I picked up The Lovely Bones brand-new for $3) and often run promos and coupons.

I love BookCloseouts and have ordered from them several times and been happy with them. Some of their books are "Scratch and Dent" but they label them as such online. Some are missing dust jackets too. Generally the "Scratch and Dent" are much lower priced and they will have 2 listings for a book, one is the "new" and the other is "Scratch and Dent" (significantly lower priced).

www.hamiltonbooks.com is another one (not used but similar to BookCloseouts) which sells remainders, "overstocks," etc.

It is surprising what you can find on these type sites, "new" books at "used" or better prices. I have been always amazed, so don't limit yourself just to "used" sites, you never know. Even OOP or hard-to-find books show up on these sites. I had one, hard-to-find OOP WWII book I was interested in on HamiltonBook to "disappear" before I finally decided to order it. Awhile later, I happened to look at BookCloseouts for it and it was there, one only in stock and half the price it was at Hamilton. I got and it was in excellent shape (a couple rough corners on the hardback cover but great other than that).
