Which is your favorite in Rodriguez's Mexico Trilogy?

Which is your favorite in Rodriguez's Mexico Trilogy, El Mariachi, Desperado, and Once Upon a Time in Mexico?

I was just wondering because I was thinking about it for myself earlier. I think I came to the conclusion of El Mariachi. It was tough because you half to factor in all of the variables. Desperado is just a great action flick and Once Upon a Time has Johnny Depp in it, I mean come on it's Johnny Depp. I own them all and enjoy them all but I'm not sure why I just enjoy El Mariachi the most.

It was a tough choice but what do you guys think?

El Mariachi. Used to be Desperado until I read the Book "Rebel Without A Crew" It felt more personalized at that point. I enjoyed all 3 movies, and think Once upon a time in mexico has some cool scenes. Just glad he did a third one.

I think RR is underated. Take a guy that can do good action, horror, and kids movies and I think you have a talent. The guy does it all himself and says to hell with anyone who says he can't.

Desperado. I actually felt El Mariachi was somewhat boring (though I own it).

El Mariachi - It's truly amazing what he did with no money and even less experience. Desperado is good but lacks the magic that El Mariachi has.

It's better not to even discuss Mexico.

I met RR a couple of weeks ago. He was really cool guy, and tall. I'm 6'1 , he must be about 6'3. Desperado was my favorite.

I would say Once... i don't like the action scenes in this film ( they don't match up to Desperado ) but I love the lines in Once.... and I think Johnny rules in the film as well as Rubén Blades.
And the first one I ever saw was El Mariachi and I did love that.

That is how I rank them as well. Desperado is one of my all time favorites, and every time I see OUATIM, I like it a little more. El Mariachi is good too.

Once upon a time in Mexico is pretty much tied with Desperado for me but I went with OUATIM (due to Depp's character).

I saw Desperado, which I see is winning the poll, and thought.....well, that's the biggest load of crap I've ever seen.

It was supposed to be a comedy right?

I'll agree. I don't know if Desperado is necessarily the best of the three films, but I sure have alot of fun watching it.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico is all about Johnny Depp's performance -- I've never seen anything quite like it before.

Desperado is all about naked Salma Hayek -- never seen anything quite like that either.

I thought Desperado was all about zooming in on Antonio Banderas' face and letting him act "cool".

"How do you say? Ah yes............ show."

If I wanna see Salma Hayek naked, I put on Frida.

Once... for me. Its an old fashioned epic that makes no sense but at least its good throughout. Desperado had a way crappy 2nd half.
