Female Convict Scorpion: Grudge Song 4/25/06

I happened to be browsing DDD this morning, and came across a listing for Grudge Song, the fourth and final Scorpion pic starring Meiko Kaji. This means that all of the Kaji episodes will be available in R1 come April (the third film, Beast Stable, is scheduled for 2/14/06). I usually find out about most releases from Media Blasters this way, by stumbling upon them by accident. At any rate, this is really good news for "pinky violence" fans. While I feel that the fourth film (the only Kaji entry not directed by Shunya Ito) is the weakest of the four, it's still not bad, and Kaji remains a mesmerizing screen presence.

Now all we need is a rerelease of the second film, Jailhouse 41 (the currently OOP Image disc suffers from a poor transfer and "burned-in" subtitles), and perhaps a release of the rarely seen fifth episode, which starred Yumi Takigawa (of School of the Holy Beast fame).

Great news. I really liked the first two films, and want to see the rest (and I agree that a new release of the 2nd film would be nice).
