Apple Store (iPod) exchange policy?

I got an ipod for Christmas! Pretty sweet - but it's only 2-gigs, so I'd like to exchange it for one with more gigs. Of course, I'll pay the difference.

The only problem is that I cannot get the reciept for it, but I haven't opened it yet.

Will they let me exchange it unopened but with no reciept - if not, is there a store that will - Like Best Buy or Circuit City?

Target will exchange unopened items w/o reciept?

I know some stores do this around Christmas - which ones are they?

For something over $100 Target (and most stores) require a reciept. You're best chance would be trying to find the receipt, or ebaying it.

I guess I'll just answer my own question.

I ended up going to the Apple store (mostly because they're pretty much the only store that still has the newer video ipods still in stock), and with no reciept, they took back my unopened nano, in exchange for store credit. I'm not sure if they do this year-round, but it was easy and no hastle.

it's definitely always easier to do this in the week or two after Christmas.
