New TV - sync problems.

Just got a new TV... Sharp 32" LCD HDTV. I love it... but... when watching a DVD I notice that the sound becomes more and more unsycned as the movie goes on. About 30-40 minutes in its obvious to anyone that things are off. I have to turn off the DVD player and the Audio reciever and then I turn them both back on and it seems fine.

The Video goes through an HDMI cable from the DVD player straight to the TV. The Audio does through fiber optic to the reciever. One thing that may be part of the issue but I'm not sure -- the HDMI cable is 6 ft. long and the fiber optic is 3 ft. I wouldn't think that would make a huge difference, but obviously something is wrong.

Any suggestions?

I seem to be reading about issue like this more and more lately and the culprit usually seems to be the HDMI connection. Try using an analog video connection and see if that helps. For a 32" LCD I doubt you'll notice a difference in PQ from the HDMI.

I agree since hdmi is carrying the audio as well it seems to me that a second audio signal to the receiver is almost certain to be out of sync.
