Additional month of Blockbuster.com membership $1 (for returning customers)

Heads up, I was sifting through spam and found the offer. Looks like another month of movies (3-out, unlimited) for $1. Last time, I got 27 movies in one month. Good for returning members.

If you have any problems, call this number: (888) 523-5278.

Is there a promotional code for this? I cancelled my account about 6 months ago and just logged in and clicked reactivate account, it made no mention of $1. All it had was the normal pricing.

You have to get the email for the deal. I got a $9.99 email offer and took it. Too bad I didn't get a dollar offer.

I got the email but didn't see a mention of how long I had to activate it before the offer timed out. I currently have 3 weeks left of a month-long in-store 2-out-at-a-time Blockbuster membership and don't want to overlap.

The offer says, "this holiday offer ends when the year does."

Same error message here too. I guess it only works with those who got the email.

I got it, but I haven't clicked the link yet. I may sign up on the last day of the month, since this next week is a busy one for me.

I got my coupons today. Can you still rent games with the coupons? I don't see anything on the coupon about games.

I think new or renewal accounts only get the coupons good for movies, but I could be wrong; I believe that was posted awhile back tho.

I did this (got an e-mail before this was posted, went through all the links saying $1 to reactivate) and now when I check my account, it says 2 Week Free Trial, and when I click Change to see what is says about it, it says current plan 2 Week Free, Next Plan $17.99. Does anyone else's show up like this? I hope I'm not charged $17.99....

I got the email too, the fine print says:

"*Only $17.99 a month thereafter. BLOCKBUSTER Online membership requires internet access and a valid credit card, debit card or checking account number. See blockbuster.com for complete terms and conditions.

**While you are a subscriber, you will receive two free rental coupons each month delivered to your e-mail address. Each coupon is good for a free movie rental at any participating BLOCKBUSTER® store location in the U.S. These coupons are only valid in-store and are not redeemable online. Separate in-store membership required. In-store membership rules apply to in-store rentals."

That seems high, wasn't it only $14.99 per month before?

Yes. it was $14.99 before... they raised the price serveral months ago. If you joined last December or Jan 05, your price is good through out 2005 ($14.99). However, i'm not so sure the $14.99 membership will remain so in 2006. i can'd my $14.99 membership back in August.

When the fee was jacked up, they did offer members with free dvd of their choice (from a selection). I got Club Dread for free...

I actually did sign up in December 2004, but canceled in June of this year when we went on vacation and never did start it back up again. I had not heard they raised their prices. It seems like I also got some class action settlement notice this year about getting a free month of service because of them not having movies available or something. I was planning on getting that but I put it off and it's probably expired by now anyway.
