If you could have one DVD or set that is in someone else's collection, which one would it be?

Basically, you scan through the previous posters collection and choose the ONE you want most.

It could be a duplicate (something you have and wouldn't mind another) or if they have all you have it could be none (more fun if something though).

Thanks for having a manageable collection to sort through (I skipped EdTheRipper because his collection is literally more than 20 times the size of yours). JP,
i'll take your "Enduring Love"...for some reason i have always wanted to see it and BBV doesn't have it.
how is it?

Not bad, but not great. It has two of my favorite up-and-coming actors in it, so I had to blind-buy it when I saw it for cheap in a Buy2Get1 previously viewed sale at Hollywood Video. It was hit or miss with most audiences, but I don't see why...it was pretty straight forward (it's not like a Lynch title or something, where I could easily see there being a sharp division among audiences). If you can find it for a good price, I'd recommend it to ya.

gryffinmaster, from your collection I'd take The City of Lost Children. Jeunet is fast growing on me, and that's one that I haven't checked out yet.

I'd have to go for the Unforgiven Special Edition.

By the way, if you liked Amelie, you'll enjoy the City of Lost Children. It's got the same visually stunning style, but has a very unusual story. Plus, you can't go wrong with a movie starring Ron Perlman where even HE doesn't have a clue what is going on. Breathtaking, none the less. ;)

jackal
02-20-06, 11:53 AM
Have to admit I haven't watched the LW DC yet (waiting for a free weekend so I can do a marathon of all 4), but IMDB says:
The newly released Director's Cut (available from Warner Bros. Home Video) features 7 minutes of additional footage. In a new trailer scene, Riggs smashes his tv with a beer bottle; later he buys a new one. Murtaugh, before partnering with Riggs, goes to practice at the firing range. Riggs, before the dope shoot out, answers a call in a scool yard with a sniper. Riggs walks out into the line of fire and kills the sniper, emptying his clip into him. Riggs, after leaving Murtaugh's house, goes out to solicit a prostitute. The aftermath is not shown, but Riggs says he wants to take her home to watch The Stooges with him; for this he pays her $100.

Thanks mate!! Though, I'm a bit surprised on the commendation after reviewing yours. Seems as if we have very different tastes (your stateside and foreign classical interests - whereas I lean towards more modern (and darker) film) .. but I appreciate it never the less. :) It appears to be a very solid collection as I've heard of a lot of your older films, I just have never seen them to witness.

Though .. I figure, if you're walking off with two of mine, I may as well take one of your box sets. The Federico Fellini Collection Vol 1 would suffice. I have one of his films .. Kovacs01: Im going to go with Taegukgi: Limited Edition Tin. What a great flick. I'm debating on what version to get.Nice collection by the way.Being a 20 year old college student, I have a limited budget on what to get, but have a big wish list and hope to expand my collection more when blue ray or HD comes out.

funny that you say that dizzle......i bought it on accident, it does not have english subs, and I dont happen to speak korean or chinese. if you do and are interested, i will be glad to trade it to you!!
