Entertainment Tonight is supposed to have the "exclusive first look" at it tonight (Monday), but knowing them they'll talk through half of it.
It's also supposed to appear in front of King Kong.

I'm trusting J.J. as he's probably the most talented person to helm this franchise yet (DePalma lost most of his talent in the '80s and Woo lost his talent when he came to America).

Oh, come on! M:I-2 was like a night at the opera: big, bold, and bonkers. It was just great.
I'm not so secure in Abrams just yet. He doesn't have nearly enough film cred as DePalma and Woo. Plus, he was the "just get somebody to direct!" choice for the franchise.

Probably some crazy ending where you're sitting there going "No way!!, wahuh?" Then going crazy tring to figure out what just happened. Then you realize you're being forced to wait 3 years for the sequel to come out so you can get your answer.

Am I the only one who wasn't particularly impressed by the trailer? I mean, I'll end up seeing the movie for a number of reasons. For starters, everybody else is, and I don't want to feel left out when they're all gathered around the water cooler, talking about how cool it was that one time that they all jumped off that bridge. Second, I think the cast warrants my attention. Third, I want to see what J.J. Abrams can do with a feature film, especially if he's going to become a big Hollywood player (which looks to be the case with both this and The Good Sailor on his slate for next year, with absolutely zero prior, completed cinematic credits).
I can safely say, though, that the trailer is not one of the reasons I'm interested in seeing MI3. Granted, I was sleep depraved when I saw it (can't view most trailers on my PC, so I'm basing all of this on a theatrical look at it), but I just didn't think it was anything particularly enthralling. Maybe it's just me, though..

Looked pretty good, until Tom Cruise showed up. ;) Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the villain has me there though, and I always like a good action romp. However, that quick shot of Cruise as a Catholic Priest produced unintentional laughter from me. I'm sorry, but he ain't as cool as he used to be, and I think a majority of the public are turned off by him now.

Didn't like Phillip Seymour Hoffman's dialog in the beginng of the trailer. Seemed really cheesy. I don't know if that was the way it was edited for the trailer, or how he really says it in the film. But with that said, I'm still going to see this because I trust J.J. Abrams.

Nice. J.J. Abrahms will probably bring the emotion to this franchise. And it'll probably turn out that Philip Seymore Hoffman is Cruise's dad. And then we get to see Abrahms doing what he does best (daddy issues). All kidding aside though, it looks cool. This should be good (and Michelle Monaghan is freakin' HOT). :)

I've never seen that movie, so it slipped my mind. But you got to admit, that shot of Mr. Mapother could've been the expression he has when tying his shoes or waiting for a bagel to be defrosted in the microwave.

While I will see this movie, I will be going for Philip Seymour Hoffman and the action, not for how cool Tom Cruise acts. In all honesty, I see this being the lowest grossing one of the series due to a major public dislike of Cruise, as almost everyone I know says they think he is a jerk.
Also, I liked the teaser with Hoffman taunting cruise better.

I would agree, although War of the Worlds did fine despite what people may have thought of Tom Cruise. Seems the hatred for him may be overblown. Besides, having never met the guy, I can't say what kind of person he is. It doesn't make sense to judge him off of a few select incidents, nor does it really make sense to not see a film based on what you perceive on person is like out of thousands that worked on the film.

See, you just said it. He's an actor, his job is to make us believe that he can become Ethan Hunt, or Joe Schmoe or whoever. If his real life antics lead us to dislike him so much that we can no longer buy him as the character he is supposed to be, the movie is done.

perhaps I should rephrase then. M:I 1 used the masks the right way, in the shadows, and not perfect looking. M:I 2 used them unrealistically, in plain day, looking perfectly like the person.
BTW, wasn't M:I the show about the team of special agents, not just one person? I think the films left the TV show behind long ago.
