I'm having problems with "The Beat That My Heart Skipped"

Today, I went to Best Buy with my father and we finally got a 16x9 TV and a whole bunch of other stuff and we also bought the DVD for The Beat That My Heart Skipped (excellent/sadly overlooked film).

However, there seem to be some M-A-J-O-R problems with it.

First off, there's an announced plethora of features on the back.

- 16x9
- 5.1 French
- Subtitle Options
- Deleted Scenes
- Interviews
- Rehersals
- Filmographies
- Trailers

It has NO menus, no bonus features, and the sound is in 2.0.

Was it just some ploy to get people to buy the DVD or was there some major issue with the DVD when they were making it because someone on IMDb is complaining about the same thing.

Wellspring screwed up big time; they sent out screener copies instead of the finished disc. I ordered it from DDD and thankfully my copy was the correct and intended final product.

See here....you weren't alone:

Apparently these screener copies didn't affect the entire first batch, as I got ahold of one from the original shipment at Borders that was a correct edition. Great movie, btw!

My copy from www.dvdpacific.com was fine.

I didn't like the film sadly.

Another note - if you buy this, make sure it has a small white sticker on the front that says WELLSPRING. This sticker indicates the fixed version with the proper transfer and features. I am also surprised at the number of features Wellspring included, and the quality of the transfer. A big improvement for them. It's too bad they had to have problems distributing it.
