Gun Club is really good, the Sympathy reissues don't add much to the realm of reissues but are nice enough and worth owning instead of trying to find the more expensive route of the originals. I could write a giant list of bands that you would like the White Stripes and such but instead I am going to tell you to check out www.grunnenrocks.nl and check out their bands link. Or check out www.garagepunk.com. They talk about broken blues, trash rock, etc. etc. Also, I like http://www.terminal-boredom.com/ for reviews and such.

Modey Lemon "Thunder + Lightning"
They are from Pittsburgh and Jack White called them "The hottest band out of Pitt-town since The Swamp Rats." With their newest album they added a third person and now have a sound that is...less harsh, but Thunder + Lightning is similar to White Stripes style.

The new Modey Lemon record is good and would recomend it, too. Also, I forgot to mention that Jack White did a record with the lost kings of 3rd wave Detroit garage the Hentchmen and you would probably dig that. Hey lukewarm, did you check out that band list on grunnen?

I've been checking out some of the bands listed, and using amazon to find similar bands. I didn't mean all of them were way off... but. Anyway, this thread rocks because moving from some of the listed bands, and checking into Fat Possum records, I've found at least 5 new bands that I really need to listen to now Thanks for this thread!

lukewarm - If you're looking for that 'white stripes vibe' then definitely check out The Kills (think it's already been mentioned) they get a little old after a while but will definitely give you a good fix.
Also....and I know many will disagree with this, but check out The Hives - while the music is completely different, I think you may really like them and end up listening to them a lot. I would reccomend picking up Tyrannosaurous Hives as a huge White Stripes fan, I find myself listening to the Hives on a regular basis as well.
The Heartless Bastards are pretty good as well (already mentioned).
And finally, check out the The Soledad Brothers they only had one album but The Stripes love them and did a cover of "going back to memphis" on their "Under Blackpool lights" DVD.

Check out my radioshow tonite at www.kjhk.org. It is on at midnite central time and runs until 4. It is my last show so everything tonite is probably going to be nothing but favorites of mine plus some classic punk stuff so it should pretty accessiable so no noise garage for the most part (which my show has been going towards in the vein of the Hospitals, Intellegence and So Many Many White White Tigers).

Cherry Valance, Baby Woodrose are ok sometimes
If you are open to it, check out the 60s-70s blues rockers. That's where the peak of the movement was. As much as I love the Black Keys (and hate the White Stripes) they don't hold my interest like the classics from:
Led Zeppelin
Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac
Free
Savoy Brown
ZZ Top
Allman Brothers Band
