Canadians: HMV deals on TV boxes etc...
Long-time lurker, first time poster here.
I was just in HMV last night and saw some sweet deals you fellow canucks should now about:
They have a lot of TV box sets on sale for 2/$80. I don't know all the sets that are included, but some are:
24 Season 1,2,3
Firefly,
Simpsons (not sure what seasons)
Married With Children
Buffy
Angel
Pretty sweet deals considering their regular price for 24 is $74.99!
I also picked up the Ultimate Matrix 10 disc set (regular, not the LE with bust) for $39.99! Be careful though, the box UPC scans at $53.00, but the sale price sticker UPC scans at $39.99 - make sure you get one with the sale price sticker. Of course this all before sales tax, so the price works out to be $45.59 in BC...
For those yankees south of the border who feel like taking a trip north - these prices are all in Canadian dollars, but don't forget there's 14% sales tax on these (at least in BC, 7% in Alberta I think). I think visitors can claim back the tax somehow though...
These deals were found at the big HMV store on the corner of Burrard and Robson in Downtown Vancouver. I'm not sure if these deals are chain-wide (YMMV). These are definitely not the online prices.

Aside from the Matrix special, which is one week only, the 2 for $80 on a lot of the tv boxes is a fairly regular pricing scheme at HMV. Titles roll in and out of that price point, but I think it's always offered on a fairly broad selection. Most of these specials are chain-wide, although the HMV on Yonge St. in Toronto tends to have a wider selection of sale-priced titles.
