Calibrating HDTV for Broadcast TV, VHS, XBox?
I know I can use things like AVIA and DVE to calibrate my TV for DVD Movies, but any tips for configuring for VHS, Broadcast TV, and Video Games?
Perhaps VHS and Broadcast can be best calibrated under AVIA as well, but I'm guessing that the softness in Movies is not best for games as well.
Thanks!

I found that after using Avia to calibrate each input I needed to bring the brightness lower for SD cable (my HD input was pro calibrated) and the contrast lower for Xbox simply to play it safe from burn in issues. Of course any tweaking by eye after Avia is all preference but it gets you in the ballpark to start from.

IMHO, the three sources you mention all vary quite a bit depending on the exact source. If DVD is your best form of media, I would calibrate to that and live with the rest as is.

My TV can actually save its own settings for each input, and my cable, video games, and DVD each use a diff input, so I can config the best thing for each

You could try copying Avia/DVE onto a tape for the VCR. You could play the DVD in the video game for that input, assuming it's a Sony or Xbox. If your cable company offers HDNet, get it at least for a month. They run test screens in HD every Tuesday morning.
Otherwise, Chip's method sounds good.
