Executive produced by Bryan Singer ("X-Men," "House") and Dean Devlin ("Independence Day"), "The Triangle" is Sci Fi's latest miniseries event. Billionaire shipping magnate Eric Benirall (Sam Neill, "Jurassic Park") is losing cargo ships at an alarming rate within the Bermuda Triangle -- and like any good businessman, he wants answers. To that end, he handpicks a team of four disparate experts: Skeptical tabloid reporter Howard Thomas (Eric Stoltz, late of "Will & Grace"), ocean resource engineer Emily Patterson (Catherine Bell (

I'm going to give it a go. From all the previews it looks like it'll have lots of special effects. Considering it involves the bunch that made "Independence Day" and "The Day After Tomorrow" the SE stuff should be pretty good. If anything the cast itself is pretty impressive. I'll hold off judgement after the third episode. Besides I need something to replace Threshold which I ditched two weeks ago which was becoming to predictable while not really showing much.

Any advance reviews floating around?
I'm always tempted by this Sci-Fi stuff, but I'm also usually disappointed with the results. I always hesitate and usually just rent the (inevitable) DVD release if the general consensus is that it's worthwhile.

Not too bad. I'll probably watch the rest.
I kinda liked the look of that new show "Eureka". "Dark Kingdom"...not so much, but we'll see. I'm a sucker for this cheesy fantasy stuff, but it looked like too much even for me. "Painkiller Jane" invoked intense feelings of apathy in me.

I'm watching this now. Not bad. Reminds me a bit of Threshold how they gathered experts together to research something unexplainable. The good thing is they don't stretch it out for an entire season, there's a beginning, middle and an end. I wish more ideas were greenlit that were limited as not to water down the idea.

What I wish Sci-Fi Channel would do is make more miniseries based on classic Sci-Fi books, like the two Dune miniseries. There's decades of good material out there that would surely serve the sci-fi community better than aother killer insect movie or some awful thing with Bruce Campbell in it. It's not that I don't want anything original, but it just their original ideas have a way of sucking.

I'd give this a watch, but whatever channel it's on doesn't work.
It hasn't since March 2003.
Surprisingly though, the signal was clear for two days in October of the following year. Unfortunately, I wasn't here to see it.
Perhaps i'll just check out the DVD...

However, the issue is really that the channel isn't looking to "serve the sci-fi community"... they fully admit that they are looking for a larger, broader audience of people who don't really like science fiction. So, instead of actual sci-fi programming, we get stuff that is watered down, bland, campy, or just plain crappy.
It's too bad, because I think Dune/Children of Dune really showed what is possible. And, as far as I know, they were both a big success.
And, to keep this on topic, any Catherine Bell pics?

I enjoyed it. Nowhere near as bad as the Sci Fi original movies.
Interesting premise and good characters. I'll be watching.

Just watched the first part very good, love all the aspects of seeing columbus and a big cargo ship and airliner and world war 2 planes. The visuals are really good for a tv movie. I have the rest of the parts on my tivo and cant wait to watch the other two parts
