I believe (and I could be wrong about this) that the stores download their prices in a batch job run nightly, meaning that it may still be $22.99 in-store. Damn went to two Circuit City's and left empty handed, couldn't find it at either. The first was so messy, many DVD's were beneath the rack in plastic bins, looks like they were months behind stocking the shelves. I asked but the employees didn't seem to know where it was either.

I can confirm the $22.99 price here in Pittsburgh (West Mifflin location). I got to the store and found about 5 Widescreen box sets, so I took one to the service desk and asked for a price check. The girl told me $22.99 and I said I will take it. Purchase time is around 12:30PM

Just got my copy at CC for 23 + tax. Got the last one too. Well, there was one more, but it did not have the sticker on the front, the shrink-wrap wasn't the right kind, and it wasn't tight in the back, like they forgot to point the heater there. So, I didn't think it would be wise to buy sub-par stuff. Some one is going to be a happy person this Christmas season!!!!

Just stopped at Danvers, MA circuit city and picked up a widescreen copy for $24+ after tax. Every disc inside the box set was a floater, but no scratches. Good deal, thanks OP. This one has been on my wishlist and a must own since release, have never seen it below $40- though. I think this was the last one at the Danvers location as well.

I can confirm the price for $22.99 at the Circuit City in Lincoln Park (Chicago, IL). Told my friend about this thread and I dropped him off at lunchtime. He asked Customer Service what the price was and they quickly said "49.99". He asked them to price check it and it rang up at 22.99. One set left as of 4:30pm on Monday, December 5, 2005.

Be sure to carefully check the discs. I remember buying this set at Best Buy a few months ago when it was "on sale" for $39.99. I had to go through about 4 sets because the discs were severly scratched. Not lightly, but liked "carved into" type scratches. Love the set, but doesn't seem like they took much care in packaging.
