Well, I had thought about picking up season 5 of the West Wing even though I have half of season 3 and all of season 4 to get through first, but the price definitely isn't right for that one. $40 everywhere? Hopefully I'll be able to find it at Sam's for a better price, or if not, hopefully somewhere in the next few months will discount it a bit.

Though it'd be even better if they had Superman v2 on sale as well. Ah well.

Thanks for the early prices! Always appreciated.

Items I would get if they weren't in snapcases:
Maverick
The Replacements
Romeo Must Die
Any Given Sunday
Yeah, I'm still waiting on a few of these to be released in keepcases/SE.

Think the Newlyweds Series will have the same effect as paintings? Once the artist dies, their "masterpieces" go up in value? :rimshot:

Looks like it'll be nothing this week for me, unless Home Alone was left off the lost of holiday DVDs for $9.99 at CC.

I'm waiting for the F4 SE. I'll be getting the one disc Cinderella Man at CC with a BB pricematch. I guess I'll keep my order open with Amazon for WDT:Chronological Donald (got it with a Gold Box discount) but have to wait for The Producers SE Dec. 13th for it to ship. Nobody has the Disney Treasures in the ads & they probably won't get them. If Wal Mart (or anyone else) happens to get them & I can get a good price there's plenty of time to cancel the Amazon order. BTW, thanks very much for posting the movie ads so early.

Circuit City keeps their $13.99 streak with new releases of Fantastic Four and Dukes of Hazzard. FF will be a blind buy. I'm just hoping that The Island will be the same price next week. Combined with the $3 off coupon will make a nice deal on that. Disappointed with Cinderella Man's price though; I was hoping it would be $13.99 as well.

But it has a commemorative booklet and limited edition photo cards!

There's a pic of it in the dvd talk thread. The discs are kinda stacked like the ones in the Matrix set. Plus, it appears the 1-disc is another double sided one, which also looks to be part of the 2-disc set.

F**k me with a garden trowel--so now Wal-Mart and Target have exclusive FANTASTIC FOUR bonus DVDs?! This s**t's getting old...

You are so right. A while ago I was trying to be a completist and get bonus DVDs when they were available, but once multiple stores started coming out with their own exclusive bonus DVDs it quickly became impossible to get all of the bonus DVDs without going through more trouble than they were worth. It's one thing to purchase at a particular store over another, but quite another to expect people to purchase the same movie from several stores. When bonus DVDs are separate, it's sometimes possible to buy and return the movie without them noticing/caring about the bonus DVD, and other times Best Buy or Circuit City have been willing to sell the bonus DVD alone for 1 cent, but when they are wrapped in with the movie as is often the case now there is no way to get them without buying the movie multiple times.

Given that Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Circuit City are each pulling this exclusive bonus DVD baloney now, the thought of getting every bonus DVD has become too overwhelming. I've missed so many bonus DVDs now that I don't care any more. I no longer will alter my plans or go through a bunch of trouble over bonus DVDs or lithographs. I get the movie wherever the price is the cheapest and the drive is most convenient. Just like Fox's double-dip strategy no longer fools me, this bonus DVD strategy no longer works on me either.

I just wish there were a place you could rent or view these exclusive bonus DVDs somehow. The way I look at these bonus DVDs, it's content the studios had and could've/should've included with the release of the movie itself, but instead they decided to hold it back denying customers what they should've had to give retailers a slight competitive edge and to make the buying process more confusing to consumers. Most of the time you can't even find out what's on the bonus DVD until the day it's released and someone posts. Well, I'll get off my soapbox now.

I'm thinking the Before Sunset as part of the 3 for $18 deal at Circuit City is a typo. All the titles in that sale are WB/New Line titles. Before Sunset was released by Miramax. But, Before Sunrise is a WB title.

No, Before Sunset was released by Warner. I believe it is one of the first movies to come out of their "Warner Independent Pictures" division.

I really like both Vacation and Christmas Vacation. I can tolerate European Vacation. So, I bought the Ultimate Vacation pack that was on sale for $29 several weeks ago from Target.

Back to subject, once again lower prices on stuff I just bought in the past few weeks. Grrrrr.

Ill be getting:

Roseanne: Season 2
24: Season 4

Maybe Batmas S4, A Christmas Story (depending on which version), and the Holiday Classics pack.

After I bought the tins at Best Buy with my $15 off 4 Disney coupon (I wasn't planning on buying Spin & Marty since I've never seen it before but I succumbed to the completist instinct at the last minute), when I got home in the mail I found a 10% off DVDs coupon for this Friday and another Reward Zone certificate I could've used.

I started to get bummed, but then I saw on the coupon "Not good in combination with any other coupons or offers", so I assume they wouldn't have accepted the 10% off coupon in addition to the $15 off Disney coupon?

I should've gotten the sets at Costco for $20.49 instead of $21.24, but I didn't know until after the fact, and it's not worth 75 cents x 4 to go to Costco, especially after using my Reward Zone certificates.

By the way, are Elfego Baca/Swamp Fox and Spin & Marty are in color on these sets?

Actually, if you're a reward zone member, you ended up getting a little better price if you factor in your rebate. If you paid $85 for the 4 tins, then that's 85/125 for getting another $5 certificate, which equates to $3.40, or $0.85 per tin.

Will DDD lower their price on the JACKASS box this week to match the $34.99 Circuit City ad?

I also need to pick up CLONE WARS 2, the BATMAN and SUPERMAN Animated releases, the new ATHF and NEWLYWEDS volumes and IMAGINE and THE ROCKFORD FILES as gifts. Since no B&M stores really have any bonus stuff for any of those this week, I'd give DDD my business for all of them if they drop their prices or will match them to Best Buy, Circtuit City and/or Target this week.

That's true except I used $60 in Reward Zone certificates, so I only get credit for $25 of that purchase, and at 3.33% it doesn't quite make up the difference. It was OK because I got to use my certificates, but I'm having a little bit of buyer's remorse on Spin & Marty. I like Elfego Baca/Swamp Fox, but I'm afraid we'll probably never see the remaining episodes, so I shouldn't have bought a set that probably won't have any follow-throughs. That's why I'm thinking these 2 will probably be $14.99 in a month or two, and maybe I should've waited. As Ursula said "Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?", and I'm not good at such decisions.

$32.99 for a two disc set (<b>Cinderella Man</b>)???

That's f'ing crazy.

Not really. The cheaper release really is a loaded 2 disc special edition. It's just a flipper so it's listed as a 1 disc release.

The collector's edition has this disc, and another disc of extras, so it's really a 3 disc version, plus comes in nice packaging and has a booklet and some pictures.

So it's not a case like with Batman Begins and other numerous releases where there's a barebones 1 disc for $15-18 and a 2 disc SE for $25-30.

It's more along the lines of something like Scarface where there's a good regular release and a very nice collector's set for people who really love the movie.

I doubt you'll ever see any of the Treasures on sale at any point in the future, period. Good luck even finding them very easily in a month.

That's generally true, but I did buy the Mickey Mouse Club tin at Costco for $14.99 on January 12, 2005 because they had a special sale (coupon) and I didn't have that one. I think a couple others tins from that previous wave might also have been $14.99 too. The point is that while it's unlikely to happen, it has happened at least once before, and my theory is that based on people's comments and the lower numbers stores are carrying of the Elfego/Swamp Fox and Spin & Marty sets, I'd say these 2 sets have a greater probability of being heavily discounted at Costco.

However, it's a moot point because I wouldn't dare wait that long and risk not getting the tins if they sell out everywhere first, and I wouldn't advise anyone else on the fence to do so either. Since Best Buy's return period is through January 24th, it gives me until then in case there is a sale on these (I'm hanging onto the BBY price stickers just in case).
