"The Biggest Loser" Finale...how much did the runners up get?
I think it was $125,000 for the two, is that correct? I would hope so since the consolation prize to the voted off was $100,000. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

I was surprised that first girl that got voted off even showed up. She didn't lose a single pound more than when she left. She didn't look like she was happy to be there.

Pete was shocking to see. I wonder if they are all suffering from loose skin from the drastic weight loss.

The other thing I find interesting is how some of the women were still a bit chubby(with fairly thick arms and thighs), but think they are the hottest ladies on the planet. I guess going from massive to plain chubby makes you feel that way.
Way to go Matt. I liked his personality.

and wasn't it Seth (one of the runners up) that lifted his shirt and you saw chisled abs and then below it the excess skin?

Yep, Seth had the loose skin...maybe some plastic surgery in the future to tighten things up a bit? But I had to root for him...he's from my town!
Still happy for Matt though.

Big Boy Laroux is right.
I remember it bugged me last year, but I did not mind it this year since Pete won the $100K and I liked him. Plus he had a higher percentage weight loss than both Seth and Suzy so it worked out for him to win second prize.
Letting the remaining contestants compete for the $100K makes up for the stupid "vote people out" aspect of the game which I just find unnecessary. If the idea is to get peolple to lose weight, it's dumb to vote them off. I always thought they should keep everyone around to the end, but at least this way the people are still working out and losing weight at home.
This show made me feel better about about my weight. I thought most of the women looked great and they were all in the 140's range. Whenever I hit 140 I feel fat, but I guess I am not doing too bad since that is where my weight tops off.

yeah, jadzia, the voting out aspect is strange... but the $100,000 definitely gives the voted-out more motivation to stay fit.
geez, did pete look like a new man. most of the other contestants lost lots of weight, but didn't look that toned. pete was ripped!
and scott, you started this thread asking for someone to correct you if your assumption about the show was wrong. well, it was, we told you what actually hapenned, and you argue with us? gotta love message boards.

I hate how they go the hundredths-decimal point to determine the winner -- so much accuracy! Yet, they seem to round off the contestant's weight to the nearest pound!
Pete beat Mark 46.13% to 46.09%. It was a ONE pound difference to determine the winner. But what if Pete started the game off at 401.2 pounds instead of 401 ? Or what if Mark actually lost 165.2 pounds (out of 358.0 pounds) instead of 165? The Mark's loss would have been 46.14%.
If you're going to go to that much accuracy in the percentages, then you need to be a bit more accurate with the weighings. Even with a 401 pound person, the 0.9998 pound range from 400.5001 through 401.4999 translates into a potential 0.25 error when you calculate the percentage. Pete won by a 0.04 "margin"!

yeah, darq, especially when you're dealing with a monetary prize of $100,000. You think they'd be more accurate.
And last year they did a combined thing, with % weight lost and % body fat.
