How I Met Your Mother - "The Pineapple Incident" - 11/28

"The Pineapple Incident"
Spoiler:
Ted relies on his friends to fill in the gaps left in his memory by a night of partying.

I watched it last night and thought it was one of the better episodes.

Nice to see Danica McKellar (Winnie) again. She's looking mighty fine.

"Half boobs"

I'm still bothered by the fact that the father (Bob Saget) is telling the kids about his one night stands. Am I just a prude or is anybody else bothered by this fact?

Edit - Removed spoilers tags.

Am I a prude, or will this episode lead to more underage drinking?

If I'm a teenager and I saw this episode, it would totally make me wanna go out and get waaaaaaaaasssssssssssssted.

go out to a bar, get ridiculously hammered, wake up in bed with Winnie Cooper and show no visible signs of a hangover? i'm there!

at least 2.5 Men is showing the negative consequences of drinking too much.

If getting drunk means I wake up with Winnie in bed with me, then bring on the shots!

I hope this show survives, as like its format and Alysson Hannigan is the cutest thing imaginable. Then again, how far can you hope to stretch this show with such a limited timeline for the story?

I do agree that having a dad tell his kids about one night stands and getting drunk is a bit much.

As a die-hard Cheap Trick fan, I was happy that "Voices" was represented in this episode

But besides that, I thought it was a funny episode.

Ted is telling these stories to his kids in 2025 or something, right?

Kids by then are probably having sex and getting drunk when they're 6, so I don't see the problem. The probably think that dad is square for not being more descriptive.

Now Ted needs to finish off the famous Winnies, by banging the Winnie from Freaks and Geeks.

Robyn's ass kind of looked really big in those jeans, I thought. Alyson's character is getting better and, as always, she looks great!

Pretty good episode

I liked how when they first thought it was Robin in the bed Marshall and Lily look stunned and Barney raises his arm up for a high-five

"You don't think, you do. And this case you do Robin"

This episode made me wish they had cast Danica McKellar as Robin... nothing against the current Robin, but the former Winnie really works for me.

Only in sitcom world can a drunk doofus screaming in a bar and stumbling into the ladies room bang someone that looks like Winnie Cooper.

I don't think that Hannigan is all that hot, but she did look pretty cute in this episode.

It was funny how each person added a little bit to the story to sort out each clue; burned jacket, arm writing, etc.

"Vomit-free since '93" Maybe Ted should've eaten a black & white cookie with those red dragons.

I had my Ted-like experiences in the early 90's, so I'm missing out on what the 18-25 year old crowd is doing now, but from everything that I see and hear, that kind of thing actually happens quite a lot these days.

Pictures are fun.

I'm really surprised to see how many people who post about this show each week are seeming to take seriously the premise that Future Daddy Ted is telling his Future Ted-poles the story of how he met their mother.

It's just a narrative construct that provides an excuse for the voice-over fun.

What will you be saying when the series is in season four, and he still hasn't gotten to meeting Future Mrs. Ted?

I got married pretty young but from the crowd I rolled with that is too much of a stretch. I had a group of about 5 or 6 friends and on a given night at least one would usually end up with some random girl. 1 or 2 others had a long steadt relationship, but the majority were nocturnal woman hunters.

Loved the episode. Hate that they are only using Winnie once. Checked imdb at the first sight of Winnie I imdb'd her and was sad to see she is only in the one episode.

I don't think the actual meeting of their mother (in the story) has to wait forever. They can meet and the show can go on about them without detracting from the show. Meeting someone doesn't have to be the instance you come to know someone but also the greater time spent getting to know them. I don't actually think they can go on too much longer (past season 1?) without finding her.

I drank alot more than Ted did this last weekend blacked out......twice and didnt have much of a hangover either time.

I can always find a way to relate to this show. Thats one of the reasons I love it so much.

Ted was finally kind of funny. I liked the addition of the bartender. And I would have rather had Robyn in my bed than Winnie. Other than that - one of the best eps of this young series (if not the best ep).

It was really funny she was on last night since, i found a cd yesterday morning from an old local ska band in Evansville(guys that went to College with me)called Olive Lucy. I hadn't listened to it since i left Evansville 6 years ago. My favorite song was called "Winnie Cooper is a bitch", just a very funny song about the character. So i'm singing the song and all of sudden she just appears on my television out of nowhere.
Ok pointless story that probably no one else cares about but hey, i found it funny.
