seems like this movie could use an upgrade. i believe the newest edition came out in mid 1999. i'd love to see a special edition

I have no idea, I would assume eventually there will be.
This is one of my personal faves, great flick!

I was thinking about this movie, along with a couple others the other day... and I actually wouldn't be surprised if its in one of the first couple of waves of "bargin price" next-gen DVDS.

The Coen brothers aren't the greatest when it comes to SEs. Even the new Lebowski CE is pretty sparse.

Yeah, but at least it was anamorphic.

I'd buy a new release if it was a barebones disc, as long as it's anamorphic. I refuse to buy the current release because it is non anamorphic. I love the movie and would love to add it to my collection. This has been on my want list for ages.

This is my predicament as well.

Just curious: is there a reason why the title was written with "_"'s before "raising" and after "Arizona"? Could be hard for people who want to do a search for this movie.

I briefly held out for an Anamorphic "Raising Arizona" but I gave up after Fox released "Miller's Crossing" and "Barton Fink" on the same day and didn't use that as an opportunity to re-release "RA". Anyways, I haven't heard any rumors or anything in regards to an updated version of this title but 2007 is the film's twentieth anniversary.

that's just an easy way of underlining or drawing attention to the name of the movie. the search feature finds it just fine.

I'd love to pick this one up to but the non-anamorphic will not display correctly on my widescreen TV(i know. It should but it doesn't). The second that it becomes available as an anamorphic movie I'm there. Otherwise there are just too many other great anamorphic movies out there to watch.

I have the DVD but instead have watched and recorded it in high definition OAR off of INHD or INHD2, where it has played a number of times in recent months. Much better detail than the DVD, and better colors too, although the DVD isn't bad in that department.
