I am looking for a Christmas present for one of my friends at work. She has already purchased a new construction that will be ready about 10 months from now, so I don't need a book about searching for a place. I am more looking for a book for a first-time home owner (she does own a condo already), all the things to look for your new place, what to watch out for. Not really sure if they make these kinds of books, but I figured you guys would know. Thanks in advance.

Home Depot has a great general home improvement book. All kinds of stuff from simple repairs to big projects. But it doesn't sound like what you're looking for.

Her fiance actually works in construction, so home improvement is not really what I am looking for. I was hoping for a general guide for a first-time home-owner that gives them helpful tips, reminds them of things they might need to do or buy (because I am sure they will have a million things on their mind), ect.. Not sure if there are books like that around or if any of they are worth anything.
