I'm a sucker for double dipping (athough I've learned never to buy a Fox title first time it's released which has cut it way down). This'll be one I'll get. With the director's cut, low price & supposedly a new transfer it sounds like one I can't pass up.

Should be Remember the Titans....maybe the mods can fix the title.

Already have the other release....don't need a commentary with the two original coaches. However, one of my favs!

Really, never even bothered checking. Just thought they were in the extra features, not actual commentary.

I caught the broadcast of this version and I have to say the extended cut is worth the doubile dip - much better than the theatrrical cut IMO.

Could you describe the added scenes in spoilers for me?

Wow, a very powerful film. I can't wait to see the DC.

okaaay - ah, you're really picking my brain here, what the network (DC) edition did was essentially add some of the previousily deleted scenes which can be seen on the DVD's supplementary section, AND added some scenes that weren't on the DVD supp section. Too bad there wasn't more back story of Denzel Washington's Coach Boone, which I thought was one of the film's only major flaw. Being a huge Will Patton fan, I have to say that this is my favourite performances of his. From my calculation this new cut is about 6 minutes longer than the theatrical version.
