Proposition For Anyone Willing To Pick Up An XBOX 360 For Me. DVDs To Trade+Money....

If anyone knows anywhere around wherever you live that still has an XBOX 360, I need to pick one up in the next week or so for an X-mas gift. The stores I usually go to around here sold out yesterday. They'll supposedly have them in stock in 3 weeks again, but I'd like to go ahead and get the purchase out of the way.

There's 2 versions: 1 sells for $300 and the other for $400. There's also some bundles they sell of them and some other extras. I'd prefer the $400 version if you could find it, but if you could get any of them I'd take it.

In return, I would paypal you whatever the cost of the X-box is + The Actual shipping for the item + $50 for your trouble.

I also have a few DVDs, all in great to mint condition, that I could possibly throw in the mix for a deal or trade as opposed to extra cash:

Another 48 Hours

Eerie, Indiana - The Complete Series

Four Rooms

Highlander 2: Special Edition (2 Discs, 2nd Disc has a couple very faded letters marked on top of it in marker)

Highlander Endgame: Ultimate 2 Disc Collection (includes producer's cut)

Howard Hughes: Aviator, Director, Billionaire (2 Disc Set, Includes the films: The Outlaw, The Front Page, The Sin of Harold Dibblebock, and a documentary on Hughes - One Disc has some scratches on it, but it was like that when I bought it new...it plays fine.)

The Octagon (FS)

Serpico

Swamp Thing (2005 Re-release, few light surface scratches, plays fine)

Truth or Dare? Special Edition (1986 splatter horror)

WWE: The Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80's (3 Disc Box Set)

I Also Have The Following Games:

The Great Escape (XBOX)

Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb (XBOX)

007 James Bond: Nightfire (PS2)

Freedom Fighters (PS2)

Mission Impossible (PS2)

Sphinx (PS2)

Clock Tower (RARE PS1 Game, missing cover and instructions)

E-mail me if you think we can work something out.

Well, keep me in mind if you see another one, Bill. I would have told you yesterday, but it's not for me anyway.

No offense, but if I find one, it's going straight to Ebay where they've been fetching as much as $1000.

Good for you. I can't say that I blame you. I'm mainly putting this thread up for a short while just in case any of those old trader buddies of mine would like to help a brother out and get a little money for the trouble.

you know these things are selling for close to $2,000 on eBay. that is just insanity!!!
good luck getting one for $400 + $50, someone would be losing $1,550...yikes!!

I haven't seen any of them go for that much for just the system. Most of the ones that are going for really high have a bunch of games and stuff with them.

I might could up the additional Cash to $100, but that's about where I break.

I just traded a premium system with no games, and no extras for $420 and $2000 in Circuit City gift certificates today with someone off Craigslist (his offer as posted). I pretty much got all the gadgets I've wanted in the past year today with the gift cards, and sadly, no DVDs.. My brother sold his for $1200 today as well. At any rate, good luck on your quest to get one.. your best bet is to start grilling employees of Target and Best Buy when they get their trucks in, and come in at store opening to see if any came in the shipment. I camped out for 16 hours to get mine..

Due to high demand, orders placed may not ship until January 2006 or later.

I'm tempted to put on on eBay with a guarantee to ship by Christmas. The bubble will have burst by then so I'll get one off a retail shelf, and probably triple my money with none out of pocket.

Whoa, $1K? ... Can't wait to see the first wave of glitches with the new XBox

I'll probably wait until AT LEAST later next year, if not next Christmas to even consider this - rather let Microsoft work out any kinks before I hit this route.

If I see any available in the outskirts of my town where I go looking for bargains, I'll let you know . ... but the craziness of finding an XBox 360 during the Christmas season is probably going to be worth more than $50 for anybody's trouble.

Might want to check periodically at eBay just in case ... I just saw one for $620 ($589.00+35.00sh) at the Buy It Now price.

to be honest guys, anybody buying from ebay is retarded.

To not buy from a major retailer and get the 2 or 3 year insurance is absolutely ludicrous, considering the amount of hardware problems with the first xbox. so far I've had no problems, but If i do, I fell safe knowing my 700$ for all of it plus warranty didnt go to waste.

I definitely agree. However, it is near impossible to get a hold of a system w/ a manufacturer's warantee with this high of a demand w/o pre-ordering and rolling the dice. However, eBay is rolling the dice as well when it comes to quality, shipping times - well, just about everything.

IMHO, I would just wait it out until retail stores have stock. However, to give as a gift for the holidays, it looks as if the best bet might be eBay.

GOOD LUCK, none the less.
