The thing is - thanks to the BB allocation numbers being leaked, you should know right away whether you'll get one or not. I plan to check a few around 2 am, and if the count of people waiting exceeds the count of premium systems for that store, I'll be back home in bed by 3, and I'll hit up Target in the AM

I'm shooting for the midnight release at walmart supercenter. I don't know if all walmarts are launching at midnight or not.
I called the one 24 hour one and they said at 10pm they are issuing tickets for systems to puchase at midnight. I'll be getting there about 3-4 hours early to wait for the 10pm ticket issue. If I don't get one, I'll be home around 11pm and then wake up to hit Target or a Costco in the morning.

At first I was going to do the Wal-mart, but my wal-mart in Plainfield is new so I doubt they are getting a lot of system, so then I thought about doing the sams club bundle at 7am. However, my new plan is to check out Best Buy around 2-3am and if there's people there I will stand in line as long as they are not over the amount of systems for the premium. If they are I will head to Sams Club.

Apparently some BBs may require a bundle purchase. I've never seen BB do this in the past, so I'm a little skeptical, but bring extra cash.

Walmart seems to be going with a random drawing kind of thing instead of first come-first serve. Again, I'd double check, but no point going in hours early just to find out the drawing is random anyway.

But, but, there was a guy who posted in a message board that he talked to his manager, and, and... ok, so the source is dubious at best. But seeing the attitude of some BB managers in the BB Bucks thread over in DVD deals, I can see it happening at some. More than likely, though, they'll just have incentives like double Rewardzone points if you push your purchase over 600 and coupons with slight discounts on accessories.

One about twenty minutes from my house is announcing at 10:00 where you need to go to get a ticket first two people to get there get the premium systems the other eight get shafted with the core systems, that should be interesting. :D

My best buy only got 44 of the core systems and 14 of the regular systems. (or vice versa....44 of the premium systems..I don't know what they're called)

They made bundles to reserve one. It was like $780 to reserve one of the core systems and $680 for one of the regular systems. On top of that, they made them pay in full.

I went to one Walmart who was first come first serve and had 4 people in line at 8:30 this morning. They are only getting 2 premiums. I went to another Walmart and same thing. The third one I stopped at is doing a lottery but at the same time it was funny to listen to the manager make fun of the customers and ridicule them behind their backs. One employee was trying to make suggestions on how to handle the customers and trying to keep them somewhat entertained so they didn't have problems, but the manager said screw them. Needless to say I won't be shopping there.

I stopped at both Costco and Sam's only to find more unhelpfull people. Costco tried but knew nothing, not even how many they had in. At Sam's Club I had to tell the 20 something guy behind the counter what it was, and even then he had a dumb look on his face. I still don't know if they are even getting any.

I stopped at two Circuit City's and they both refused to tell me how many they had in. Doesn't make sense in a business stand point to me, but they had no response when I asked what they were going to do when you had several pissed off customers who waited and didn't get one since they wouldn't let anyone know if it was worth waiting in line.

Looks like I will be driving around and checking the Best Buys, Target and Sams Club in the morning.

We showed our manager the retail insider newsletter that said that employees are able to purchase a system with no discount, and games/accessories with a discount. She gave us the go-ahead after that. And... if something did happen.... about 7 sup's/managers and a bunch of full time staff would be gone right before the holidays... :)

Bunch of reports of 2 or less premiums at Wal-Mart. That sucks. A friend of mine is in line there right now, has been since 2. They said 4 Premium and 10 Core. They kept reassuring people that all evening. Talked to him a few minutes ago and he said they just came out and said they were wrong, only 2 premiums. He is 4th in line.

Gotta give a couple rotfl rotfl at all the Core systems manufactured as well. ALL the diehard early adopters want the Premium. ALL the people out there in the cold trying to get one. So there are probably 10s of thousands of Cores that could have been premium systems for launch day. rotfl Sometimes you just have to wonder if there are actual monkeys working there.

I'm in the same boat... When I pre-ordered on August 24, I was #3, now magically my GR is only getting 5 systems instead of 10 and now I'm 6th on the list... My bet is GR employees put themselves higher in the list.

Yeah, i was watching that news broadcast. Best Buy told them there were only 100 some odd units, up front, but the people in the back of the line were "hopeful" that either BB counted wrong (?) or somebody's credit card would get denied. I didn't check, but I really hope that's one of the stores that opened at midnight.

The reporter than said that ironically enough, the CC across the street had a smaller line earlier in the day, but when it started raining (really only drizzling) they just gave out coupons for them to come back at any time the next day to pick one up.

I am pissed right now. I wasted 10.5 hours yesterday because I held on to the hope I'd get what I wanted.

I got to Walmart in Howell, MI at 2:30pm. There were 26 people in line. The store had that many prem systems and 22 core systems. I was the first of the ones getting core. I waited because I hoped someone would change their mind, or leave. I ended up walking out with a core, but its going back to walmart today because the thing is worthless. I'm not spending an extra $150 on accessories that I need, that come with the prem system. That is money I had set aside for games.
I did walk out with the system, even though I shouldn't have, because after 10.5 hours of sitting, I couldn't leave empty handed.

The thing that pissed me off the most about the whole thing. I know for a fact that 3 of the people ahead of me that got prem systems are the type of person that pisses me off. They already had systems(3 each) preorderd from other places and this was their system to sell on ebay for profit.

Then, there was a kid that kept leaving his spot for over an hour multiple times that walmart did nothing about. If he had someone sitting for him, it wouldn't have been an issue. But after my complaint, they didn't do anything and he left multiple times.

Then, the real kicker. There was 2 young kids that were their with their parent and another older teen and his mom each getting a prem system. They live in the same fricking house. The systems shoudl have been limited to 1 per person per household. And I had to listen to an annoying couple in front of me getting the last prem system. They kept going on and on how it was a christmas gift to each other and they weren't going to open it until christmas. They were a young married couple.

The line started at 7am thanks to it being inside. 3 old ladies claimed the first spots beacuse they are old and have nothing better to do then spoil their brat grandkids. Then, the next couple by the young kids in the same house because school is out all this week.

So, because of this, I won't be getting a system probably until March I'm hearing when there are some available.
All I really wanted to do was get the system, hook it up last night and play PDz.

My intent was to get the core system and hold it and then go wait in line somewhere else. Buy a Prem system and return the Core system.
