Foo Fighters - Five Songs & A Cover

I just picked this up from Best Buy. It's a Best Buy exclusive.

1. Best of You(Live)
2. DOA(Demo)
3. Skin and Bones
4. World(Demo)
5. I Feel Free
6. FFL

Pretty good EP. Best of You and DOA are really nothing special IMO. Skin and Bones and World are both good tunes. Both are slower songs. I wasn't crazy about I Feel Free after the first listen. FFL is okay. It's one of the Foo's heavier songs.

Do I have to double dip on the album to get it? Or can it be purchase seperately?

After their lackluster double album, the foos are off my radar. I'll skip this.

So they release four INCREDIBLE albums and after only one "lackluster" one you aren't a fan anymore? Sounds like you weren't one to begin with.

I don't like IYH, but that doesn't mean I won't jump headfirst into their next effort. That's a what a fan does.

Fixed.

I know where you're coming from. I'm one of those kinds of people that stick with bands I like far past their prime. I'll be buying R.E.M. albums until they stop making them. I do that with LOTS of bands.

That being said, the Foos have been slipping for awhile, IMHO. I loved TCATS and still do. I like TINLTL and OBO but their last record was trash. A bloated double disc without enough good songs for a solid single CD. I couldn't get into it AT ALL.

Basically, what I'm saying is I'm done blind-buying foo albums. They put out another great record and I'll be sure to pick it up. We'll see.

Yeah I mean, the double album is only one of their best in many REAL Foo fans opinions.... Lackluster? Get lost from the Foos we dont need you! I mean it only got top reviews from a ton of music mags, and newspapers. I get sick of so called fans who whine about all the Foos albums which are not TCATS. Even though their other albums have won awards and have had a ton of hits.
What do you want, TCATS on every album? Clearly your not a real fan, and never were, so why am I wasting my time? GOOD QUESTION, I HAVE NO IDEA!!
Just say your a fan of TCATS, dont waste your time saying you were a Foo fan.

I think that's a fair evenhanded statement.

I guess sometimes us fans (like you with REM, who I think got bad a long time ago myself) jump on the bandwagon regardless. However, I think it's still fair to dump albums that aren't up to snuff. I am a HUGE SP fan, but Adore sucks. But then again, I think even a b-sides collection like PI was phenomenal.

I am physically unable to not purchase every SP release. Gish is constantly playing in my head.

Did you pick up Earphoria? Underneath a bunch of crap are some great early live performances.

I for one liked the double-cd release. I've listened to it many times. I prefer the heavier CD over the more mellow one. I'll have to pick up this EP. I didn't even know it was out.

My speculation:
On TCATS are all tracks excellent. On other albums only 40-80%.
Last record (IYH) - 60%.
I don't like only TINLTL (40%), except songs Learn To Fly and Generator.

I still have a VHS copy of Earphoria (wore it out).

Auto, you should e-mail me. I have some cool SP stuff you may like.
