Any info on Pinky Violence Collection recall?

I read on another board that there was a recall of the Pinky Violence Collection set which was originally scheduled for release today. Does anyone have info as to the reason for the recall (authoring problem, rights issue, etc.)? A local store has a copy on hold for me, and if it is a quality control problem, I would rather wait than go through the hassle of a return.

Thanks in advance

Quality control problem. According to the Panik House website, Girl Boss has problems in some players. I would wait for the December 6th re-release.

Too bad, I was considering these as part of my second DDD order. They looked like a lot of fun.

I spotted the Pinky Violence Collection at Best Buy today...shelved in the Special Interest section. They had two copies. Price was $79.99. BB probably has the version with the defective Girl Boss Guerilla disc, but Panik House is offering an "immediate" replacement via their web site if you get a bad disc (they'll even reimburse you for postage).

I picked the box up at Borders. I tried the Girl Boss Guerilla disc on my Momitsu, and the film played fine, but I couldn't access some of the extras. However, it wouldn't play on my PC.

The UPC of my set is 883164200192. I'll be sending the Girl Boss disc back to Panik House next week. Hopefully, it won't take too long to get a replacement. In the meantime, I can enjoy the other movies.

DDD just shipped my pre-order. Could this be the corrected version already, or should I just send it bacK?

The release date was pushed back to 12/6, so this should be the one we are looking for. DDD never shipped the first batch.

I love everything about this set. I hope it does well and they can release more like this. I love seeing Pinky Violence movies get releases like this.

Supposedly all sets were corrected, but Panik House has an exchange program on their website to get a replacment disc in the case you get an old set.

I agree that this set is great, from the packaging, booklet, bonus CD, and, of course, the films themselves. One thing I would recommend is getting this set in a B&M store, if possible. Given the flexible packaging, this set has the potential of getting trashed in shipping.

No doubt about that!! It's the brightest item in the whole room where it stands.

Though, I have some concern with the connection point between the DVD hubs (hard plastic) and the pink vinyl outter covering. It just seems that after too much use, it may give way to seperation. Who knows. Aside from that, it's a brilliant (in more ways that one) piece of packaging - especially for displaying ...

Now if Panik House could only grab the distribution rights to the Kaji Female Scorpion Prison series and do up a similar release ... I'd never have to purchase another DVD again!!

The case holding Delinquent fell apart when I first opened it (From DDD) But after a few hours of pressure on top of the package, the cement glue seems to have fixed it.

Where have you guys put your stickers?

I thought about putting it up in my cube at work. I'd find a way to display it without taking the backing off, though.

Media Blasters is releasing 3 and 4 in February and April. They have already released 1. Now that 2 is out of print, I am hoping they snatch that one up as well for a complete box.

Thanks for the head's up. I caught that on another thread and can't wait!! Very happy to hear about the release.

Though .. it would icing on the cake if it were pretty in pink - packaged as a set like Pinky Violence collection! Oh well .. I won't pass them up.

Sorry not exactly on topic, but how's the action in these films, particularly on the fighting scenes? Are these "bad girls" displaying martial arts, or more of brutal, street brawl type of fighting? Hand-to-hand combat or more swordplay / knifefight? I've watched the trailers in Panikhouse sites, and looks like it's more brawl than kungfu fighting...

Definitely street brawl, with some knife/razor action. The first set of Panik House discs were swordplay period films.

Solo re-releases coming this October for those who can't get the entire collection.

I'm sure this "Guerilla" will be more corrected. Love the artwork, btw.

Nice Mondo!!! Thanks for the head's up. I noticed these covers posted on another forum, but no specification was given on the origination. Now I know!!!

I may have to double dip just for the cover art on it's own! Truly sick stuff!!!!

Too bad people didn't catch wind of the recent amazon 50+% off pricing on the collection set. Now they're back up .. just about msrp. They must be running low stock. At least that means it's truly "limited". Anyone know of a published count of the limited release ... ie. 10,000 for instance?

I have always felt strongly that people should be rewarded for buying early -not punished, so I've made this item as collectible as possible: there will be no re-press of this particular box set - EVER! "
