1. I'm pretty sure about Collins starting because of a good week last week and WAS gives up more total points and yards than BUF, but i'm not sure if Bress coming off of a bye week might be a better start.
2. I'm iffy about Finneran vs. a tough Bucs D. Curtis vs. Ariz might be a better match up, but i'm not sure. Stallworth is against NE...which is a wild card because he is inconsistant, just like the Pats secondary.
3. As for my defense....I think the NYG will come back and play a solid game against a beaten down PHI team. Delhomme & Smith worries me, which is why NYG get the nod.
Suggestions?

Geez...at first blush, I would go Brees (at home vs Collins on road) - I like both Wilford and Stallworth better than Finneran (Wilford, but NE secondary is a mess), and I would start Chicago every week. Especially at home.

I'd be wary of Wilford, though... he's a little banged up and Matt Jones did a great job, even with Wilford playing most of the game. Plus the latest news on the Jacksonville squad is that all four WR (including Jimmy Smith and Reggie williams) are going to be rotating in and out, with Smith still being the number 1 (for now). I'd almost bank on Jones for this week with Wilford hurt, but I'm open to other opinions (I picked up Jones and have Wilford, and am also choosing between them and Stallworth).

I too heard about wilford's shoulder and the WR rotation.
As for Brees and collins....i think i'm going to wait until sat. CHI is definately good, but Car worries me. I think PHI will put up less of a fight. Stallworthless is iffy. I'd hope he'd do something, but he is spotty at best (this year).

Thanks to LJ Smith's 6 catches last night, I managed to get my 7th victory.
I'm unsure about running back.
Unfortunately, I own Kevin Jones and Jamal Lewis. Ronnie Brown is my #1 no doubt, but #2 is a toss up. I'm leaning towards Jones because at least he has shown flashes of good play this year. But I did pick up Adrian Peterson from the Bears. I may start him because he's had success the last 2 games. Thomas Jones is still hurt, which lowers his chances of starting. So...
Peterson or Jones?
fujishig
11-15-05, 06:14 PM
I would wait on that one until we get more info about Thomas Jones (who happens to be on my team). On the one hand, he's practicing and seems healthier. On the other hand, there should be no need to rush him back into being the exclusive back, and with Benson hurt I'm not sure he's as worried about losing his job. So I think if Jones plays, Peterson will play some too... but if Jones is out, Peterson is your man.

Jimmy Smith isn't doing much... in fact, whomever's playing opposite him is doing really well, whether it's Matt Jones or Wilford. And even though he's the number 1, he's still going to be part of the 3 or 4 man rotation. They do have a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way, but I'd be a little wary. Who are your WRs?

I'd go with McCardell and Moss. Especially if Tommy Maddox starts this weekend. Which means the Steelers are going to run almost every down. Which means not many chances for Ward. If Maddox doesn't start, then I choose Ward.

If Maddox doesn't start, doesn't that mean Randle El has the job? :)
I agree, though. Batch was finally starting to play well and he gets hurt. Big Ben's still out, and you can just see Maddox's confidence eroding. He might very well have a comeback this game, but I wouldn't bet my fantasy team on it, even with the talent that Ward has. I finally dropped Randle El because the Steelers passing game is nonexistent right now (and he isn't going to be throwing touchdown passes on trick plays very often).
I almost wish Wilford was more hurt so that I could start Matt Jones... with all of them healthy, it's a tossup who will have a big game. That's a juicy Tenn defense too.
Any particular reason why you suggest McCardell over Evans? McCardell has been cooling off as late, hasn't he?

Well, I have more confidence in Drew Brees to McCardell as opposed to a Holcomb/Losman to Evans connection. Evans had a great game last week, but prior to that, he only had a total of 55 yards in his previous 3 games! And he only has 21 catches all year.
McCardell has 34 catches and 6 td's this year.

San Fran has worst pass defense in the league. In his 2 games vs SF last year, Hasselbeck had 254/2 and 285/3. I think he is a very good start this week.

This could be an upset week for me. I'm 7-3, in 3rd all by myself, and my opponent is 2-8, including 8 straight losses. But he has Tom Brady, Corey Dillon, Deion Branch, and Ben Watson. And they play the Saints. He also has Brian Westbrook. I have some good matchups too, Ronnie Brown vs Cleveland. Donald Driver and Joe Horn have good matchups too. I put Drew Bennett in my starting lineup this week, he's confirmed to start. I've been playing waiver pickups in my 3rd WR slot for the last month, so I have no problem taking a chance on Bennett this week.
I have 1 more RB to pick and the choices are not good:
DeShaun Foster vs Chicago
Jamal Lewis vs Pittsburgh
Kevin Jones vs Dallas
This is like asking someone, "how do you want to die? lethal injection, electric chair, or gas chamber?"
I have Jones in right now.
