I saw it. It was the first commercial on after Lost started. I thought it was REALLY lame. Bunch of kids throwing water balloons? WTF?

Anyway, I took it as get(jump) in on what everyone is doing.

Yeah I suppose that's it. Not one shot of the system or a game though. If it wasn't for the quick XBOX 360 logo that they flashed at the end of the commercial, nobody would have any clue what they were talking about. If you blinked at the end during the 360 logo, you would be lost. The only reason I knew what it was for was because we were notified that there would be a commercial for it, and I was on the lookout for it. Oh well, maybe that means some people won't know about the launch and we'll have a better chance of finding one on launch day! ;-)

I can't believe Microsoft actually paid for that crap. The system should be able to sell itself on it's own merits. Don't tell me I have to buy one just because everyone else is.

The jump rope commercial was much better. I actually thought that was what this thread was referring to. I lost interest in the waterballoon commercial and didn't even realize it was an Xbox ad.

Kind of interting really. MS expects to sell 3 million this winter, has planned a shortage, and is still advertising the product. Very interesting.

The commerical falls in the same advertising style as their viral marketing campaign. It's a cute commercial that's designed to imprint the logo of the 360 in the consumer's mind. That's all, just a bit of a teaser.
I'm suprised anyone was expecting more than that.

I just got a friends opinion of the commercial and she said "I loved it" and she's not big on video games, hell she didn't even know there was such a thing as a 360 till I told her last weekend. So obviously the ad holds some merit.

I thought the commercial was cool, but had no idea what it was for until the Xbox360 logo at the end. I'm not sure how it's supposed to generate interest for the system. To me it seems like one of those commercials where people (who don't already want the Xbox) ask "did you see that jumping rope commercial?" instead of "did you see the xbox360 commercial?"

I told me wife that I wanted to be in charge of the DVR remote so she wouldn't skip over the commercials. We watched the whole commercial and she asked me what the hell that had to do with the 360. I just kinda shrugged and said I had no idea.
I mean I get the slogan but with all the cool shit you can do on this system I just was amazed that the commercial was so bland. I hope it sells consoles and makes MS money but it didn't impress me....not that they have to since I already have over 700.00 invested in the system already.
