Boston Legal 11/08
Every week I wonder to myself if it is humanly possible for this show to become any more preachy than it already is. The following week's episode usually manages to demonstrate, that yes, it is very possible. The artistic potential of Boston Legal has been reduced to an ego-maniac's political soapbox, a tool for one man to spout left-wing propaganda at an astounding rate.
This rhetoric has become increasingly insulting to anyone whose political ideology falls even slightly right of Ted Kennedy. The storylines are also becoming more absurd by the week. What should be quirkily humorous and smartly entertaining, has become almost tiresome in it's arrogant need to preach the gospel according to David Kelly.
That's a damn shame.

This might have been the best Denny episode ever.
When he pulled out the gun and shot the guy in the kneecaps I lost it
and that was right after he called the judge a douchebag
"Denny what would you do as Mayor of Boston?"
"I don't know. Invade Rhode Island, it's small."

The humor content was high, I also lost it when Denny pops a cap in the perp's knee at the courthouse. The beastiality case was pushing it a bit, and Alan's fear of clowns got some chuckles from me.

Sorry, SkullOrchard, but this episode rocked!
I was laughing outloud countless times. Loved it when Murphy Brown had to cover her ears when Lenny was talking lol!
And, Denny on Larry King -- too funny.

I think this is the first time in tvtalk history that we had a new show post that was actually a in itself, bravo.

I like the way that politics are handled on this show because several of the characters are Republican and several are liberal. I think it probably reflects most workplaces in that way.
It is nice to see Denny and Alan disagree about politics but they are still close friends.

The beastiality story line was completely retarded and a waste of air-time, but Denny and Alan/Brad more than made up for it. Denny killed on Larry King and I always enjoy when Alan and Brad get to work together because they have great chemistry that is under-used, imo.

Alan had to defend a tv station from a clown that was suing them for wrongful termination. Alan has a fear of clowns
A judge made Denny defend a man accused of raping and murdering a 13 year old guy. Denny wouldn't do it and the judge wouldn't let him off so in a client meeting Denny pulled out a gun and shot him in both kneecaps while he was just sitting there to get out of it and said it was self-defense. He wasn't charged becasue the DA couldn't disprove Denny's claim.

I have been talking about the "preachiness" the past few episodes, but I didn't take any notice of it this ep. I thought it was great. And it confirmed that Denny is best when he does well.
For Calhoun07 - Denny asked the guy to request a new lawyer. He said he was happy having Denny. He then said that he did the 13 yo girl a favor killing her because he has AIDS and was pretty "rough" (he raped her first) so she was lucky she died quickly. That was when Denny took out the gun and shot his kneecaps. When security came in he dropped the gun and said "He came at me." etc.
What was really great was the meeting with Paul, the DA, and Denny. Paul is arguing that the DA has no case against Denny, etc. etc. and after each sentence Denny murmurs something like "self defence" and "Denny Crane" etc. Absolutely fantastic. Find it and watch it.

Finally got around to watching this last night and i thought it was great! The look on Spader's face from his fear of clowns was hilarious.
I even watched Julie Bowen's storyline this week. i usually fast forward through her cases but I thought I'd give it a chance since Michael Mckeon was on there.
