"Major Acquisition" To Appear For TNA This Sunday At "Genesis"
November 8th, 2005 16:44
On Tuesday morning, TNA management informed TNAwrestling.com that the company has come to terms with a "major acquisition" who will appear this Sunday during the live "Genesis" Pay-Per-View.
When reached for comment, TNA President Dixie Carter offered the following:
"This is the single biggest jump in TNA history," Carter said. "The contract is signed, the travel is set and in my opinion, 'Genesis' just got a whole lot more intriguing."
TNA will have further information on the "major acquisition" this Sunday on the live countdown preshow a half hour before "Genesis".

As much as I love Christian would they say he is, "The single biggest jump in TNA history"? I know all reports go against it being true but I could see Jericho being billed this way.

It seems as though I was wrong. All of the wrestling web sites are reporting that it will be Christian who appears on PPV this Sunday. For the first time ever my wife has been the one to decide that we're ordering a PPV.

awesome Christian will really make TNA interesting and if Benoit and maybe even Jericho follow it could really put TNA on the wrestling map.
I hope they brng him in as a heel, even tho I'm the biggest Jarrett fan, I think TNA needs some new heels.

He left on his own accord.
They didn't help matters by offering him a reportedly huge pay cut.

Also, sources within the TNA production crew are saying that the newest TNA star is to be none other than Christian. The reason for this is that videos have been made with graphics of the name "Chris Jin." The videos do not feature Jason Reso himself, but are more along the lines of what WWE did with the Boogeyman, no shots of him, but just a buildup video. It appears that TNA will attempt to get around WWE trademarking the name Christian by using "Chris Jin", which, when pronounced, sounds exactly the same.

Will he have to be Jeri Ko? I heard a joke about the "Chris Jin" thing, in that they could make a stable of Asian-Canadians with Chris Jin, Gail Kim, and Crispin Wah. I guess we could throw Jeri Ko in the mix as well. :)

Actually in an interview recently Jericho stated that he enjoys the TNA product a lot but couldn't see himself working for any company but the WWE because Vince has been such a great boss. He did say the, "Never say never" line but also stated that if he did somehow work for TNA he would contact Vince first to let him know about it and get his ok. I'm sure Vince, remember how the N.W.O began, would do anything to stop Jericho from showing up with Christian on Sunday.

TNA added a Raven vs "Mystery Opponent of Larry Zbyszko's Choosing" match for the PPV. I wonder if the Mystery Opponent will be the "Major Acquisition" or someone else?

The Raven match is the first match. I forgot about this tonight, so can someone post and let me know who it is? I would imagine it is Christian, but I am curious to see.
I wonder if Nash will show up tonight since he didn't make the last one.

VERY cool PPV. Read on if you want spoilers:
Raven vs. An Opponent of Zbyszko's Choosing
Turned out to be Justin Credible. Decent match, but it wasn't really given enough time to go anywhere. Raven wins with the DDT.

HOCKEY STICK FIGHT
Team Canada vs. 3Live Kru
(Special Referee: Kip James)
Trainwreck. The hockey sticks never really even came into play, James looked lost as the ref, and it was a boring match to boot. 3LK wins the match.
Rating: *
CONTENDER'S MATCH
"The Alpha Male" Monty Brown vs."The Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy
Pretty straightforward match as well. Brown wins with the Pounce.
Rating: **
ELIMINATION X MATCH: ELIMINATION RULES
“The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels, “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, Alex Shelley and Roderick Strong vs. Chris Sabin, Matt Bentley, “The Original Playa From The Himalaya” Sonjay Dutt and Austin Aries
Great match. The usual highspots from the usual guys. Aries' 450 is fantastic. Finally got to see Daniels pull off the B.M.E., and it was great, even though he missed it a bit. Joe and Daniels win, and Joe gets pissed because he said that Sabin was his pin (Joe was going for the muscle buster on Sabin, but Bentley pulled him out of the ring.) Afterwards Joe laid Daniels out viciously. Two muscle busters, one on a chair, and a bladejob from Daniels. Kind of wish after what happened to Eddy that they wouldn't have used the stretcher, but what can you do.

NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH
Sabu vs. The Monster Abyss
Pretty much a standard, garbage hardcore match. Abyss brought out the tacks at the end, and Sabu took a couple of bumps on them, as did Abyss. The end came when Abyss used the Black Hole Slame on Sabu onto the chair wrapped in barbed-wire.
Rating: *1/2
X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs. Team Canada’s Petey Williams
This match featured one of the sickest bumps I have ever seen. Petey threw AJ from the ring apron back/neck first onto the guardrail. Great match, each guy hit his moves, and there was good psychology. AJ wins with the middle rope Styles Clash as Samoa Joe watched from the ramp. These two are going at it on the next PPV for sure.
Rating: ***1/2
SIX MAN MAIN EVENT
Rhino and Team 3D vs. Jeff Jarrett and America's Most Wanted
Another hardcore match, but this one was actually really good. As usual Jarrett was the downer, but everyone else worked their ass off. Some really cool saves from AMW. The main theme of the match was the face team constantly trying to use a table, and AMW always making the save right before they could. The end came with a 3d. After the match, Jarrett and Team Canada laid everyone out. Jarrett was about to come off the top rope onto Devon, but Christian runs out. Earlier in the show, DeMore asked him to join Team Canada. He comes out, takes off his jacket, and it's the Team Canada shirt! He shakes DeMore's hand...and then hits him with the Unprettier! Jarrett finally goes through the table...Dudley's 3d with Christian delivering the final blow. Very cool way to end the show, and sets up Christian as an immediate badass and main eventer.

Sounds like it was an excellent show. I like how they keep most of the former WWE stars who's gimmicks are kinda played out in one segment. I understand the need to have those guys and am excited to see how they use Christian, but it's the same old routine with these guys each week. I can't wait for AJ vs. Joe
