My Name Is Earl -- "Stole Beer From A Golfer" -- 11.08.2005

"Stole Beer From A Golfer"

Spoiler:
This time Earl (Jason Lee) decides to pick something simple from his list - stole beer from a golfer - so that he and Randy (Ethan Suplee) can attend the county fair like they do every year. Seven months prior, Earl and Randy began fixing golf games in order to keep scoring free beer from Scott (guest star Johnny Galecki), who would purchase drinks for everyone whenever he hit a hole-in-one. To atone for this sin, Earl buys Scott cases upon cases of beer. He soon discovers, however, that in order to fully cross Scott off of his list, Earl must help Scott regain the life that he had before he became obsessed with the sport. Earl is helping Scott get his job, apartment, girlfriend, and dog back when Randy suddenly disappears-upset that Earl’s list is taking a front seat to going to the fair with him. Earl soon realizes that his behavior is becoming a little obsessive and causing him to be neglectful of other things in his life. Nadine Velazquez also stars.

There will also be a four episode mini-marathon this Saturday at nine.

Title is great, summary seems a bit convoluted.. but I have serious doubts that this show will NOT deliver excellence.

Is it really 2 whole hours until this show? Easily my favorite sitcom right now.

I hate election coverage sometimes. It looks like we'll be waiting for the repeat to see the end here in Richmond.

GRRRRR.

ETA: 10:30 Saturday.

"Well, I used my hand on a guy"

Anyone notice one of the beer boxes had the brand "Sharkey's".. Wonder if that was a nod to another Burt Reynolds movie

Damn... f**king... Rat bastards.

They cut into my episode for about 4 minutes to cover the "Decision 2005."

And people wonder why I hate politics...

(Edit: Haha. "I used my hand on a guy a little." Funniest damned thing I've heard all day.)

Where does the show take place? There were references to Western Maryland with Hagerstown and Cumberland. Does it take place in West Virginia?

I believe it is set in NJ or PA I read somewhere. Will have to go confirm.

Overall, not as LOL funny as previous eps, but still a good ep regardless. The "handjob" was great, along with the Fun Dip, and all the Smokey references.

Randy: "Why do you always get to be the Bandit?"
Earl: "Cause I have a mustache. You need a mustache to be the Bandit."
Catalina: "My mother could be the Bandit..."

Jason Lee's reaction to the handjob line was just as good as the line itself

The first 2/3 of the episode was comic gold, the final 1/3 was okay, but overall, I was laughing consistently throughout.

The cross and swastika burning were frigging hilarious. And I used to live in Frederick, MD, so I had to explain to my dad why I was laughing at the mention of Hagerstown.

Camden County is in New Jersey. So, a bus trip to Hagerstown is plausible. And going all the way to Cumberland to get the Bandit car definitely shows Earl's dedication to Randy. And Joy is NJ trailer trash, no doubt about it.

I'm gonna have to go through my Tivo'd episodes, see if there's any more clues to pin down the location.

Damn, I love this show. Great writing, and the casting of Jason Lee, Jaime Pressly and Ethan Suplee was genius.

"Ya...I 'm not sure how to un-ring that bell!" The funiest moment of the entire episode....lol
