Anyone picked up Shattered Union?

I'm not usually a strategy game guy but I'll admit when I read the storyline for this one I was intrigued. Anyone picked it up yet? I'm debated whether or not to give either the Xbox or PC version a go.

Don't bother. I got a copy and it's not a very good title. Save a ton of money and get a copy of Massive Assault from Matrix Games, it's a much better game.

S. Union tries to be a sort of an Advance Wars but for PC. Right down to the point where after you move each unit, the game fades out, then fades back in. That slows the game wayyyy down. The worst part is the lack of unit balance - for example, machine gunners can take down a tank. But nothing can take down an apache helicopter - except for AA guns. No matter how much gunfire you heap upon an Apache, it will only scrape the paint. And since when can AA guns hit ground targets in the hex right in front of them?

If you're a graphics junky, this game is painful. It has no sense of scale (tanks as big as cities, therefore no urban combat, and infantry as big as tanks) and just looks weird for lack of a better word.

I really wanted to like this, since there hadn't been a turn based PC game in years, but I found that Massive Assult, from 2002, looks and plays better.
