I didn't know there was one. I've still got my sealed Anchor Bay tin. Maybe I should put it up on ebay if there's a new version (one I can actually watch) coming out.

There was something at DVDanswers.com a few weeks ago. It has the exact same extras as the current disc (commentary and trailer). I think it even had the same menus. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

DVD Talk Ultimate Edition
News and this release looks to have two things to make it superior to the A.B. release. The original mono mix and the deleted scenes as an extra feature(either the scenes are shown,or it's a featurette on the deleted stuff).

Universal already release a disc a while back. as canaryfarmer stated, some pics were posted of those menus. However it was also brought to attention that the same thing happened when they announced the Carlito's Way DVD that just came out...so honestly no real news at this point.

Huh, first I've heard of it... Yeah, Universal already released Repo Man, seems like an odd choice for an SE. But for getting it out there I guess... I might pick it up, depending on the transfer.
I have the tin as well... Last time I checked, it played fine. But yeah, if you're just holding on to the tin for the "collector value", then get rid of it. I'm sure there's a fan of the film out there that would enjoy it.

I'm a huge fan of the film, but never got around to opening it. I also have my friends regular dvd to watch for movie's sake, which he left a while ago, so I can view it any time. I bought the tin for me and not as an investment, but now that it's worth something and if a better (even tinless) version were to come out, I'd consider trading up.

I'm surprised Universal isn't calling this the "Melon Farmer Edition"

To all...
Be careful if you're picking up Repo Man. Don't get the one with a green "Widescreen" strip across the bottom of the front cover art - that's the older one. Grab the one with the "Focus Pictures" banner instead.
