I'll be the first to admit it doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense...

Cameron, I don't think the original poster is clueless on when the title is being released; I think, like many of us, he's perplexed as to why, as a lead-up to Episode III, it's being released a month after Episode III...

Maybe instead of blowing the entire SW wad in early November, they decided to leave something closer to the holidays.

i'll admit, that i thought it was strange for them to release this later...but it does give them a month long way to promote star wars dvd's.

i only linked to the other thread, because the same question was posed when it was announced.

Honestly, I would have rather the release dates for episode 3 and for clone wars vol 2 were swapped. It makes no sense to me to release the cartoon after.

I'll wait until they put the entire "Clone Wars" on a single disc. Hell, it's only two hours; spreading it out over two DVDs (at $20 a disc) is a big waste.

To nitpick, I've never seen the Volume 1 dvd at more than $14.99.

I'd be surprised if they put in on one disc. At best they'll bundle the two together. I doubt it sold well enough to do more than that.

And I would say that I paid 12,99$ (on top of that, canadian dollars) on release day for Vol 1...

Well, I understand that and it's obviously your choice. And in many ways I agree that $40 retail and 2 discs is pretty nuts for only 2 hours of animated material and a few extras... but I suspect you're in for a long wait if you're expecting them to double-dip on the Clone Wars cartoon.

(If they ever do decide to revisit this, I'd like to see them improve the sound. The 2.0 surround track is adequate, but I was surprised to see that they didn't give it a 5.1 track -- missed opportunity.)

I believe Vol. 2 will have a 5.1 track. Vol 1 doesn't though which sucks.

I believe Vol. 2 will have a 5.1 track. Vol 1 doesn't though which sucks. It's still an excellent 2.0 track (or is it 2.1?).

Yeah, it sounds pretty good. Still would have prefered 5.1 obviously.

Yeah, it sounds pretty good. Still would have prefered 5.1 obviously.I don't know about that. If it was originally mixed in 2.0, it doesn't really matter to me if they mix a fake 5.1 track along with it.
