With the Cowboys on a bye week let's take a look so far.

1. Record - 5-3 - Good midterm number. Could be 8-0. Could be 2-6. Most exciting team so far this year for close games. Only the Cardinals and Eagles games they won by blowout.

2. Injuries - One major concern. Flozell Adams. Bledsoe got killed the game after Adams went out for the year 'gainst the Seahawks. Lineman are scarce. No teams are deep enough to survive injuries in the wrong spots. Much od the season depends on where the injuries happen.

3. Schedule:

10 Mon, Nov 14 at Philadelphia ABC 9:00 PM
11 Sun, Nov 20 Detroit FOX 1:00 PM
12 Thu, Nov 24 Denver (Thanksgiving) CBS 4:15 PM
13 Sun, Dec 4 at NY Giants FOX 1:00 PM
14 Sun, Dec 11 Kansas City CBS 4:15 PM
15 Sun, Dec 18 at Washington FOX 1:00 PM
16 Sat, Dec 24 at Carolina FOX 1:00 PM
17 Sun, Jan 1 St. Louis ESPN 8:30 PM

Lotta games in a few days coming. As a Cowboy fan all their games could be on TV. The big story is that all 3 coming Divisional games are on the road. 2-1 so far against them. With the nasty late loss to the Redskins, the OT win on the Giants and the pummeling of the Eagles.

4. The Second Half - A schedule re-examined. Before the season it appeared that is was going to be in their favour. It still is, but the road to the playoffs may run through 8 possible playoff teams. Wow. For any team to succeed in the playoffs they must be battle hardened frrom the year. For these Cowboys it will be the truth.

Result: Looking forward ot some other input. I think this team may be the best in the NFC. And I'm not given to exaggeration. They have dominated many teams but failed to put the games away. In both the Redskin and Giant games they dominated remarkably. Can they learn to win?

Lotta good questions going to the second half.

Good team. Offense tends to get waaaaay too conservative when they get a lead. Second half we'll see if they open it up or not.

And teams with good protection and QB will eat them alive with the long ball - don't see much of that on the sched though.

I think (and hope) the Giants are going to thump them the second time around. That was a TOUGH OT loss for the Giants to swallow. D has a tough 2nd half, but they are a legit playoff team. Too bad they are in the NFC East...because only the top 2 will make the playoffs.....because there are too many conference games left to let 3 teams come out from there.

They could be 9-7 and miss the playoffs, and have a 7-9 (or worse) team get in because of a weak conference.

I'm still pissed about the Washington & Seattle games, both should have been wins.

Giants are going to crush them on December 4th.

All their road games are tough (they'll be dogs in them all) and they have 2 tough home games. I can't see the Cowboys doing better than 4-4 with that schedule, with 3-5 being more likely.

I was thinking 4-4 was likely, but you just never know. As long as the 'Skins can find a way to beat them again, I'll be a happy man. :D

My guess is that the Cowboys go 5-3 and win the NFC East.

If only we can learn to put games away when we have a lead.

It's been a frustrating season because they can clearly go toe to toe with any team in the league, but with the inability to finish games they will likely miss the playoffs due to playing in the best division in football. I actually hope TO does play next week because I would rather they win or lose with Philly having their best team out there. I'm looking forward to them beating the shit out of the Redskins :D

Solid defense means they'll be in every game they play. Inability to close games has been a problem but I leave it to Parcells to make the necessary adjustments. They've been able to run the ball without Jones and as long as this continues and Bledsoe doesn't have to throw 40 passes a game, they'll keep having success. I see them going 5-3 and at worse 4-4 for the rest of the season.

Go Alouettes! Oops, Cowboys! :)

Actually, Dallas shut them down the whole game until the end (yes, frustrating for Cowboys fans).

SO, it would have been a tougher game for the Cowboys to swallow if they had actually lost (like in the Seattle game). The Giants were lucky (debatable of course) to be in it at the end.

I agree that they will go 9-7 or 10-6 and maybe make the playoffs. I have a feeling that the NFC east is just going to beat each other up this year.

Though, Im hoping that Philly and the Skins fall off. I think the Skins are fooling people right now and they arent as good as their record. AND, McNabb is playing injured. I think those factors will drive both those teams to the last two places in the NFC East (fingers crossed).

Im most worried about the Giants though. They seem to be getting better whereas Philly and Wash aren't.

BTW - Shockey is a homo. ;)

Maybe if he keeps getting hit, it will limit his mobility......oh wait.....
