Does anyone know which version of Labyrinth is $7.49? I assume it's the regular one and not the Superbit or Collector's Edition.
I guess "Looney Tunes PC" is the Premiere Collection? I haven't seen any good prices on the 2-DVD Movie Collection or Golden Collection V3, so I'm holding off. (I'm not a Sams Club member.)
In fact, I haven't found any reviews on the Movie Collection or Golden Collection V3. I don't know if the Movie Collection is really 2 DVDs (2 DVD-5 or DVD-10 discs) or 1 flipper (DVD-10 or DVD-18). I think I'm one of the few people who feels cheated if I buy a new release movie that is a single-layer DVD-5 because I think they should always use dual-layer so they can at least give a higher bitrate. One of the first things I try to find out on new releases is the format of the DVD, and sadly that's often difficult to find out. In fact, I still think many review sites don't include the format information (accurately).

Thanks for the early ads. I guess I'll keep my Amazon order open for C&TCF 2 disc (got to wait 2 weeks for it to ship with the Polar Express 2 disc). I might buy a copy at CC & keep it sealed in case of a Batman Begins fuckup with the collectible book). I'm surprised at no prices for Jumanji 2 disc SE (with Zathura ticket). I hope they get them in at B&M's after The Fog w/ticket fiasco with bb.com.

Looks like I'll once again be going the R3 route for Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. cd-wow's got the 2-disc for $17.95, a little higher than they have been running, but still cheaper than the 2-disc R1.
I hate hate hate these single and double-disc releases. Just make it a double-disc set only and force J6P to get the extras.

Don't know about you guys, but I'm really starting to hate this new $14.99/$22.99 pattern. I always end up paying $8 extra for that second disc that used to be free if there was only a 2 disc release. It makes me sad.

You're right, but I enjoy the extras, as I'm sure a lot of people on here do. The fact that the 2-disc versions aren't discounted as much as the single disc is what ticks me off. If the stores would mark those down more than $2-3 from MSRP, I wouldn't have as much of a problem.

Cut in what way? I'll check out your review, but if the Pink Floyd performance is cut in ANY way, I will not buy this. It's the only reason I watched the concert live, and it's the only reason to own the DVD, in my opinion!
Anybody getting the Beavis and Butthead DVD? I'm going back and forth thinking about it!

They're all very good. American History X and ET are worth the price.
Snatch is my personal favorite out of the three. I only say it's not worth the price because there's a deluxe edition coming out January 3, which will have the two-disc edition, a CD soundtrack, and a booklet. I'd wait for that since the MSRP is only $19.99, and the two-disc edition can be hard to find now. The stores will most likely price it at $14.99 or less during its release week.

Looks like Target for Beavis and Butthead and I'll Netflix Chocolate Factory. I liked the old one, but not sure about the new one. I spent too much money on DVDs lately with Wizard Of Oz (3 disc), Titanic, Tales From The Crypt Season 2, Office Space gift set and Star Wars Episode 3.

Is there a way to rename these threads so that they are more easily searchable? I'm looking for the thread with the current Best Buy/Circuit City/Target sales but it has dropped off the list and I can't search for it because
Movie - Pulls up one thread
Ads - less than 4 characters
Oct - ditto
Nov - ditto
Another idea could be to link the former (ie current sales thread) in the text of the future sale thread (this one).

I wouldn't get E.T., as it is the 2002 version with new special effects, and walkie-talkies instead of the shotguns.
Does anyone know what the collectible book is with CATCF at CC? If it's the novel I may get that version as I was wanting to read the book again.

Weekly sales threads are never more than a week old. That's why they're called weekly sales threads. :P Just go back a page or two and you should find it without the use of the search function. It's not as though the Bargains forum gets massive traffic.

I'm disappointed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2-disc set is going to be so expensive. From what I've heard, the extras on disc 2 are thin at best, but virtually nonexistent on disc 1, so I'm left with no choice if I want to see the extras. Granted, no one is forcing this on me, but if studios would release one version (instead of 1-disc vs. 2-disc), stores would probably offer the same discount that only 1 discers are getting now. It's a frustrating trend.

You knew it would happen. Like you said since studios release a 1 disc and a 2 disc than B&M stores eat it up. They love that.
By the way, DDD still has it for $18.76.

I think that the disc count is the same, seeing as both the "R" rated version and the "unrated director's cut" version are the same price at the various online locations. I could be wrong, though.

Way I've heard it, the R-rated is 1 and the uncut is 2, for one very big nearly three hour long reason - the documentary of the making of The Devil's Rejects. One has it, the other doesn't. And as I recall, the review posted at this very website confirms that the uncut version is two discs.

Just an FYI...
The "Boyz N The Hood" available at Circuit City for $7.49 looks to be the 2 Disc SE, gold foil packaging. A real steal, considering most other places have it for $19.99.
I'll be price matching that and "The Devils Rejects" at BB. That way, I'll get it $3 cheaper, and get the exclusive comic. :eyebrow:

Yes ... and it depends on the employees at the stores. Didn't work for me in my local area -ohbfrank- , but I heard that it worked for a select few. Further from a major city you get, the better chance of nailing the deal would be my guess.

I hate this 2 disc scam that WB is pulling.
I bought Batman Begins because I got it at a fair price from Amazon.
Willy Wonka went from a must buy to a Blockbuster "rental".
So, they lost a sale.
If they would have released one, 2 disc version, I would have bought it in a minute (and Best Buy/Circuit Citu would have sold it for ~$15).
