That's gotta be a big disappointment for Zorro. They were probably 4 years too late in making that one as the first is so well-liked and they didn't jump on it while the iron was hot.

Must be a nice feeling to have a film that cost $4 million to make open up at $30 million.

Glad that Doom has bombed in its second weekend.
Not surprised about Zorro..I love the first movie, but the trailers to the new one made it look TERRIBLE. Isn't there a scene where he's on top of a moving train on a horse? Ugh. Looks like way too much CGI too. I'm sure i'll see it eventually though.

I liked the film alot, but it went from $12.2 mil on Friday to $10.9 on Saturday. Ouch. And this was on Halloween weekend. A Friday to Saturday drop is never good. This is no doubt going to be a profitable movie, but it looks like it'll drop huge next weekend. Still, with a small budget, Lions Gate has to be very pleased.

not to mention it's Halloween weekend. People throw their parties on saturday since the holiday is on monday. No reason to toss gloom and doom on it on a second day of release.

I think Lion's Gate would have been pleased if it's total domestic gross was $30million, so I'm sure they are NOT worried at all about the huge dropoff it'll have in the coming weeks... they've got a lot of dough coming in this weekend...not to mention the very lucrative Saw II and Saw II: Unrated Deluxe dvds that I am sure are just around the corner.

For $4m a movie, they should be popping these out every year for the next decade.

Aside from Saw II, which I would attribute to being one of the few hyped horror movies for Halloween, it doesn't look like movies are doing well. But of those, I don't see anything I won't wait for the dvd to watch.
