In an apparent misprice, DVD Planet is still offering the new Wages of Fear Criterion, a fantastic 2disc set of a great film, for only $19.47. Every other store has it listed at $39.99 list price but Planet only $29.99. (Combine it with another Criterion you have wanted for free shipping.)

And has DVDPLANET gotten their act together or are they still the mess they were two years ago? I haven't shopped there since 2003 because of all the troubles I encountered with them.

It's up to $28.76 at DDD now. There's always the wishlist and wait/hope for another 20% off sale...

Never got the customary first email. I bet they are going to lose this order like the Dr. Zhivago one I had. Oh well, already had the first release of WOF. I can live with that.

I just got my confirmation email a few moments ago (almost 3 hours after the order).

I just got a email confirmation with order # from DDD @ the 21.56 price. Never did get the first email they usually send saying they will send another email with the order #.

I had it pre-ordered months ago and they shipped it to me at that price. And I was able to sell my old Wages of Fear for $13. A good deal methinks.

DDD and DVDPlanet are one and the same.

DDD and DVDPlanet are one and the same. Not true. They (along with Digital Eyes) are owned by the same company, Infinity Resources, Inc., they use the same warehouse in Itasca, Ill., and their profits roll up to the same corporate balance sheet. But they are operated as separate businesses.

I wish they were the same. If I could get DDD's 20% off sale on DVD Planet's Criterions I'd have all of them.

Wages of Fear is on sale for $19.99 (plus tax, of course) at Virgin MegaStore. Lots of copies available at the Union Square, NYC location.
Also on sale for $19.99 is le Samourai.
Great prices, for Virgin!

A lot of places seem confused about the MSRP on this - my local Tower store (Lincoln Center) has it stickered with a regular $29.95 price, and a "sale" (well, for Tower this is a sale) price of $24.95.

No such luck in Boston. I couldn't even find Wages of Fear, and Le Samourai was $29.99.
