War of the Worlds - 2 disc vs single disc?

What's the difference? What extras come with the 2 disc set? Also, anyone know where the best price is to preorder the 2 disc set? DDD has it for $26.69 and Amazon for $25.99 and both with free shipping.

This information can be found at DVDAnswers.com:

The single-disc will retail at around $29.99 - the retail price for the two-disc edition is currently unavailable. Both releases will feature a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks. The only extra on the single-disc release will be a Designing the Enemy: Tripods and Aliens featurette. The two-disc edition will include that, along with an introduction by Spielberg, a four-part production diary documentary, four behind-the-scenes featurettes (The HG Wells Legacy, Characters: The Family Unit of War of the Worlds, Pre-Visualization and Scoring War of the Worlds), some closing words by Steven Spielberg, design and production photo galleries, and the film's theatrical trailer.

However, if you look at their menu shots, they appear to indicate that there will be NO extra features on the single disc, not even the aforementioned featurette, and that the 2-disc set will NOT have the theatrical trailer (I hope to hell I'm wrong about the latter).

Oh, and the cheapest online price I can find so far is $25.99 at Amazon.com.

Well, you're in luck since the version released in theaters and on the DVD is the Director's Cut.
